Jezus Christ, enough with the bumping already. Take a look at the rules...

Do you usually scroll through more then 5 pages of threads to find whats going on?

No, you usually think "thats kiddies that are stupid and have nothing to say anyway."

Even worse - the DEVs are flooded with requests on IRC and "look at my thread" stuff via PM I guess and since this is a suggestion about the keypoints of the "game" this idea is important to be held up high. I mean, you stare at the gun 60% of the time and you shoot it very often, if a major main thing feels wrong, the whole game does.

Sorry, completely different angle, but I hate the new recoil simply because playing the game now involves perpetually dragging the mouse down every time I shoot.

Why isn't my soldier centring his gun any more? We model his breathing, panic, stress and stamina but now we stop modelling his self righting of recoil? Fine, have the gun climb, but why have it stay there WHEN YOU STOP SHOOTING? Make it climb DURING shooting, then make the soldier RETURN THE RIFLE TO WHERE IT WAS.

I have bad wrists at the best of time (I play drums and guitar and ..stuff) this is just stupid, the game for me is now an exercise in mouse based strain. If it's not fun to play, its not fun to play, and its no longer a game, but a task. I have the new British armed forces DLC on the way, only to find the island I am buying is already included in the patch, and now to annoy me further I find that if I lie prone with a machine gun with a BIPOD stuck on the end of it, I have to squeeze off single shots whilst constantly dragging the mouse down, down, down, with every shot.

This has utterly destroyed the game for me, no joke! Its like the joystick waggling in sports games. Everything is fine, just get my soldier to centre the gun on his own, at least partially. All this talk of "working the gun" is fine, except there is no gun, there is just a mouse. There is a limit to what can be simulated with one.

Rage, aching wrists, and all my love. I do love you guys at Bohemia. I just like my wrists more.

You'll get used to it (and then won't be able to imagine the game without). This is the ladies version anyway, the first iteration was significantly harder to control.

@Topic

No. No. And no.

What you suggest is cheating as it will make your weapon, say M16, much more precise than that of people without ACOGs just because what... it has ACOG?

That's silly.

When you are shooting at a much smaller stuff 300m away then of course it's naturally harder to hit it, so come closer if it's too hard to aim at it - a real life is no different from that.

There is no need to deathgrip your mouse either.

I agree with the idea of dynamic recoil as proposed by the OP.

Fact is that IRL the results / accuracy of my shooting is much more like original ArmA2 EXCEPT when I go "cyclic" - in which case RL results become much more like OA.

This is most recently experimented with using a Ruger Mini 14 with conventional stock - which is to say overall recoil isn't terribly great but it's very sharp - and the stock doesn't have the nice geometry that assault weapon design affords.

Mind you, IRL I am simply a ^%$#ing good shot - always have been - not boasting - is simply a fact - and probably explains why I bleat so much about shooting dynamics in these games - it sh.. - I mean ANNOYS me intensely when I can't be as accurate in a game as I am capable of IRL...

Nothing about recoil affects you accuracy, only your ability to lay down fast accurate fire. Most of the rounds in a real conflict are shot with suppressive intent. And now, fast shooting will reflect that.

i completely agree with you here, i mean , this is a military sim, and you are playing as a trained soldier.

Please don't get me wrong i love this game but i always felt it could always improve in this area.

With an AK47 when aiming down the sights i believe the gun should not climb straight up but instead sway off to the right after each shot, because off the charging handle.watch a video of an ak47 firing and you will understand what i mean.

also pistols need to do more damage at close range ive shot ai four times in the chest without it being killed.

another thing, when im sniping at distances of around 500m with a dragnov as an example sometimes i can shoot ai multiple times (up to 8 times) without it dying im pretty sure im well within the effective killing range of this particular rifle.please fix this

oh and add the f88 austyer to the game i want to be able to shoot my countries rifle without a mod.

and just personally i think the L86 in the BAF DLC sucks lol, one would think it was more accurate than the m4a1.but no anything over 280m is a sure miss unless you have a scope.

just make sure you drop them on the first shot, then recoil is no problem. :p

but yeah i agree i find the recoil a bit overdone, it is good but the muzzle climb is a little too excessive.
