Gunfighter6 10 Posted July 7, 2010 Is there a way to use UH-1H for US force in MP? I didn't know the Taliban has this in their inventory and the US folks don't. I would love to fly this on MP server but everyone just has Blackhawks and Littlebirds running all over the place and most can't even fly them right. LOL :D Gunny
Jelliz 10 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Well, this game is not simulating Taliban. The faction "Takistan Army" and the guerillas is just loosely based on it, so yeah they got the UH-1H aight. It is possible for US forces to use them, but that depends on the mission design. EDIT: Actually, the conflict is loosely based on Iraq, the terrain is based on afganistan. Montanaro 0 Posted July 7, 2010 You can use the huey through the editor and custom missions. Recreate a vietnam scenario even.
tyler4171 10 Posted July 7, 2010 The Takistan Army is/does represent the technology of the Saddam era equipment, so it makes a lot of sense to be similar to Iraq, but yes the maps are heavily Afghani based
sv5000 127 Posted July 7, 2010 stuff that, how about giving as a UH-1N :)
CG Man 0 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Iran has a load of USA aircraft including F-14 and Cobras I think Takistani is loosly based on Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan mixed together so makes sence for them to have some USA gear like the Huey and M113. ARMA II has the modern updated Huey for the USMC that can be used in the Arrowhead editor also check Armaholic site for helicopter addons. Arma II vehicle, weapons, unit addons also work in Arrowhead. Edited July 7, 2010 by CG Man
4 IN 1 0 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) :butbut:But the old huey(bell 206) is pure classic! It flies right, it sounds right and it rides right! Edited July 7, 2010 by 4 IN
T.S.C.Plage 0 Posted July 7, 2010 It flies right, Nope, it doesn't. At least not with a joystick ("skips" like hell). it sounds right Nope, needs more "whop, whop". and it rides right! Maybe...
tyler4171 10 Posted July 7, 2010 You forgot one, it looks just downright sexy :)

jsa2001 10 Posted July 7, 2010 Non of the helicopters fly correcty in Arma or OA you need to use the tail rotors along with cyclic controls to turn left or right. You dont have any tail authority in forward flight so its hardly any sort of simulation.

You dont have any tail authority in forward flight so its hardly any sort of simulation. Due to aero-dynamic drag created by the airframe any aircraft would lost most of its tail authority at speed, i do agree through that the bis limit is set a bit too high, but then if we start talking about total simulation we should be in msfs or lock-on forum not here. If you lost tail authority at any time you cant fly, in a real world you have to use pedals to coordinate a turn not just by banking using cyclic. You need to swing the tail around by adjusting the blades pitch on the tail rotor.

You need to swing the tail around by adjusting the blades pitch on the tail rotor. that why I say that the speed limit and the amount of tail authority lost is somewhat too harsh to a point it affect control(and lets not go into the fact that chopper control is missing separate throttle/torque control and a lot more), but the fact still stand, you do lost most(about 70% maybe more) tail authority at speed, the faster you go forward, the harder for yaw movement. In anyways this game is not a chopper flight simulator, there is no point to talk indepth how wrong the control are. Edited July 7, 2010 by 4 IN
