Necramonium 10 Posted August 1, 2012 I have my game totally maxed out, but for some reason trees in the distance still look like they are set on Low. Grass also seems to disappear after a few feet, and when walking i see it popup after a few feet. Can i change this with postFX? Here are two screenshots for example:
doveman 7 Posted August 1, 2012 Might be this problem http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?137726-LOD-switching-issue-since-1-
Necramonium 10 Posted August 1, 2012 Yeah, its the LOD switching for sure, as this video shows:
chrisb 196 Posted August 4, 2012 Think they are still trying to sort out the 1.62 LOD problems, but its not the end of the world, still quite playable.. Only seems to be some types of tree's.
doveman 7 Posted August 4, 2012 No, it's most buildings and other scenery as well. V. annoying and distracting.

powell730 1 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) I'm having to put several of the video options on normal/low and it just doesn't seem like I should have to... My specs are: quad-core i7 3770k @ 3.5-3.9 ghz 16GM RAM Nvidia GeForce 560ti 1GB I know there's better video cards and processors out there but I feel like this should be able to run the game with MOST settings maxed out. I'm achiving around 30FPS with the following settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5zc721b6fdaovs1/arma2OA%202012-08-15%2003-36-01-10.bmp?m Does this seem correct to everyone else? Also, I disabled postprocess effects so I could get rid of that ANNOYING blur effect. Just Ran Benchmark 01 and average FPS was 65. Benchmark for OA was 66, and Benchmark 02 was 21. In game I average around 35-40. Thanks for any replies! Edited August 19, 2012 by powell730

domokun 515 Posted October 30, 2014 Yes, try these: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?85124-ArmA2-OA-%28low%29-performance-issues&p=2081466#post2081466 And I'd drop these 2 parameters -maxMem=5120 -maxVRAM=4095

Guest HellGhost Posted February 21, 2015 Hi all ! I still have a huge performance issue with ArmA II with the AA and the ATOC. I own a GTX970 4Gb VRAM and I can get all in Very High quality. Video Memory in Default. Except Post Process on Normal because in higher value it just give a bad blured image. I used a Sharpen Filter in Normal. View distance set to 2000, it's largely enough. But don't know why, when I activate the AA (even in Low) I just experienced a really bad FPS drop when looking at dense grass area in scope or binoculars. That's really bad, because I just want to activate the ATOC to finally get these horrible distant trees LOD away. Do you know why ? Is it normal for you ? It's similar when doing the same process in ArmA III and trying on ported ArmA II maps. I'm in 1680X1050 screen resolution. I've always think that getting a GTX970 solved all my quality problems in ArmA games. I speak about the options settings, not about the view distance. Thanks for your help ! Horus 83 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) You need new GPU because your card is not good for any game on 120Mhz monitor. You can only try to cap in game FPS at 40 or 30...how to = SHIFT + - ( num - ) then type FPS. Edited May 21, 2015 by Horus
Speed258 10 Posted May 21, 2015 I know that my card is old, but at this moment is there i can do to gain atleast 10FPS?
infamous_pikachu 0 Posted April 6, 2016 hey i looked at the specs for the game and seen it has low specs so i downloaded the game on my crappy laptop but i cant get the fps i need my specs are... plz help me I really like this game (mostly for dayz mod) AcerAspire one 1-431Intel® Celeron® CPU N3050 @ 1.60GHz 1.60GHz(RAM)=2GB64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
Mirek 166 Posted April 6, 2016 in minimum required specs for this game is clearly stated: Processor: Intel Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz You try to run it with CPU thats far below the minimum required specs. No wonder you cant get any good FPS. Also by "Downloaded" You mean "legaly purchased", i hope.
infamous_pikachu 0 Posted April 6, 2016 well my friend bought it on steam and sent it as a gift and so your basically saying my laptop is a piece of crap
Mirek 166 Posted April 7, 2016 No, iam saying your laptop is not ment to run Arma. That laptop would be probably good enough for Watching films, browsing internet, using MS word and MS Excell, and playing solitaire or minesweeper.
chrisb 196 Posted April 7, 2016 The thing about any pc desktop/laptop. They're made for different reasons, some are great at everyday stuff, as Mireks points out. Other's, on the other hand, may not be made for that and more geared towards gaming. With Arma you really need a pc that is geared towards gaming a little more. Because Arma is one of those games that needs that extra.. well. umph.. on the gaming side. Not a technical post, but the nearest I could get, for now. A pc to run this series doesn't have to be really expensive, just thought out well. Hope you get to play at some stage, on a different system. :)
