David Schofield 10 Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) Ok, so here is the situation: I have installed and played ARMA II before, and (god damn my lack of preparadness) lost my manual, thus the CD Key, are gone. My mother most likely tossed it on her previous tantrum in which she blamed the game for the slow internet connection (I had patch 1.05 on it, and it had DRM gone. It was actually Crysis that was causing the faulty lag for our router) but she forced my Arma 2 copy into the garage, leaving me with it and the basic control board thing that came with it, and she tossed out the original cover and the Manual. So to my dismay, now that I can play it, I can not find the manual anywhere, though I have the disk, box and little control explainer thingy. Is there any way to install it without the CD Key on the back of the manual? Like, going into the disc and finding that CD key in some way? The way I see it I am screwed and tatooed without it, but there may be some way to get it through the CD, anyways I should hope. Does anyone have a solution to this? Do I have to provide any information to a moderator who may be able to help me because I really want to crash a V22 into some T-90's right now. It is definitely not possible to "retrieve" the key from your DVD, simply because it is not stored there. Well maybe faith in god will make it turn up I don't know... Just well shi'ite muslims from beyond the grave and that's about all I have to say about that... Your mother probably doesn't know the difference between slow Internet, a slow computer and/or a slow website If i where you I'd get her to buy a new copy :p Sad story but one where a lesson is learned Your product key for any piece of software (be it games to 3d modeling programs to antivirus software and even Windows) is your license to use the software. (just like a cars number plate and registration number gives you the right to drive it on the road) You could go to an Online store and buy another arma 2 cd key for pocket money. Since you still have the install cd. The advantage of buying a cd key online would mean the cd key will always be in an email. So as long as you don't delete the email you'll always have it. P.S be sure that the site you buy your cd key from is trustworthy (Google is your friend) here are BI's official online partners http://www.arma2.com/crossroad-sprocketbanner.html EDIT: I just read that you found it above :) good job! I have in the past. And like i said lookup how trustworthy the site is first.
