Shooting Infantry weapons from inside of a vehicle

Recommended Posts

Could use 'attach to' thing, been done already with it, that said its not ideal.

I was gonna say I've played around with 'attatchTo' by firing out of a chopper, only you can only move an inch or two side to side, definately not ideal.

And it lags, and jerks, and is jittery, and totally unstable. Unless the vehicle is stationary or you are playing singleplayer it is practically unusable for this purpose =/

Even simply being able to use binoculars when turned out would be a great addition.

Makes me think of the implementation in Red Orchestra, which is fantastic. Their step-based stuff from optics, to tank interior/viewports, to unbuttoned, to unbuttoned with binoculars.

Binos would indeed be a really good Thing. Shouldn´t be that hard to do because we have only one bino model:confused:

Support the idea whole heartedly. I could easily imagin someone saying, whilst on a Humvy, "slow down a bit i just wana scan that tree line"

Make spotting a ambush easier

Not worth the effort.. just think about it.

It would be very hard to implement and next to useless.

next to useless.

I disagree, imagine your in a slow convoy and your heading towards an area that is textbook perfect for someone to lauch an ambush, your not going to want to stop the convy, (which would make it more Vulnerable) and waste time doing a rece, or jump out to look through binoculars. Being able to scan the area through binoculars as you move would be a better option.

But yeah i guess it could be hard to impliment lol

You could also just use the normal zoom button, sure it wont zoom as far but it should be enough in most, if not any case.

Also, moving slow ingame in a vehicle is a good way to die.

This would be easy to implement for at least the UH60's and the MH6's. This would work great with the cars as well, but be far more difficult.

It is but this is one of those more urban environment features..in an open and vast field it would mostly be unused but in close quarters not so much..I wouldn't say useless, supression fire is more effective than no fire, and the gunner can't watch all directions all the time, not to mention the main gunner of said vehicle is the most open to attack.

iirc general SOP for an ambush when mounted is to return fire with the primary weapon (ie turret) and push through the kill zone, there for having your BULLET PROOF window down just to get off a few rounds off and risk taking a shot to the head seems a bit silly to me..

Well, unless the Humvee is uparmoured there isn't very much that's very bulletproof with it ^^
