Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 16, 2002 here a lady had to learn that 'R' on the gear does not mean "rally"! And here you can see how emancipated german police is! And the effect that female police-officers have on the statistics! This security-firm knows its best customers and adapted the ads correspondingly! Or why did thy put a girl? Tovarish 0 Posted April 16, 2002 Heh, this is pretty scary but of all my friends the girls are better drivers than the guys. I actually refuse to get into a car when this one particular guy is behind the wheel, I made up my mind one rainy day when we were picking up an old HS buddy who lived out of town for a party, and he says "oops...I'm hydroplaning.... again!" Wobble 1 Posted April 16, 2002 geee....i wonder if Wobble's girlfriend looks at this thread....may be i should send her an email and tell her how wobble thinks about women behind wheels hmm.. My GF.. 1: she got her first car.. 2 days later she drove it through a barbwire fence. 2: when she got her jeep she backed into a car in the parking lot 3: then she hit a truck parked on the side of the road.. 4: then she hit ME and squished my door in. 5: then she ran over a drain culvert and popped a tire. ... the list WILL continue.. so what would she say of my post? "bastard!" LOL
ralphwiggum 6 Posted April 16, 2002 LOL Well, as matter of fact, one time, within 5 wks, i almost got ran over by cars, 3 times, all female drivers. speaking of your GF, i'd say whe'll probably start talking about her toe surgery and make you cringe
Guest Posted April 16, 2002 Hmm... female drivers. Fact: In Kosovo the Swedish unit had by far the most APC accidents of all the units. Fact: The Swedish unit was the only one that had a number of female drivers. Connection?....hmmm
Assault (CAN) 1 Posted April 16, 2002 Yeah, there is a girl in my law class who has been driving for 2 years and has been in 4 accidents, 3 of which were her fault. One girl I used to know was an excellent driver. The summer before she went off to university she took me and 3 of my buddies to the 'hidden intersection'. Basically it was a long straight road out in the country side with a steep bridge over a creek in the middle. Anyways, she hit about 120 km/h and we flew off the bridge into the air, hilarity ensued, it was like something out of a Hollywood movie, Tyler

Sheriff 0 Posted April 16, 2002 Personally i will never get behind the wheel of any sports / Family cars older or newer than 10 years that's owned by a regular individual(s). Most Guys mod their rides (Gearboxes, Tires and of course under the hood) but most aren't smart enough to get their speedo checked and adjusted for accuracy afterwards. Second most regular people really don't take care of their rides. I've seen horrible cases of Tires been underinflated / overinflated and worn down seriously, Bad Brakes and more. Probably a good percentage of these drivers are women.
Supah 0 Posted April 16, 2002 My girlfriend and i have a very good arangement. She drives and i annoy the crap out of her with unwanted advice i dont have a drivers license. The dutch system is more dependent on how good the guy who takes your exam feels and if he let more then one person pass allready then how good you drive. After being shafted 4 times with "You didnt look at the intersection" while i did look but he/she was looking at his clipboard or messing with some pen or watching the birds i decided to let it be untill i was grown up enough not to want to smash their faces in with an tire iron Other people , like my sister, Nearly hit a pedestrian, Stalled the car twice at a busy intersection, Couldnt find the oil guage when asked and drove to fast got "the benefit of the doubt" leaving me to wonder how not looking noticably by an examinator who wasnt even paying attention is worse then all of that. It costs 200 dollars a pop to take the exam. add to that 40 dollar driving lesson (per lesson) which aree compulsory (you will need about 30-50 of those) . Plus A theoretic exam (is valid for a year, if you dont get you license within the year you will have to do it again) which also cost 90 dollars. Overall getting your driving license sets you back about 3000 euro's if you get a couple of bastard examinators. Then you get a license with a points system. 3 points and you'll have to do it all over again. Then you want to buy a car .... BUT WAIT you will need insuranc but simply because your 18-26 of age you get to pay double because statiscally speaking your most likely to cause an accident! (accidents probably caused by those "benefit of doubt" people like my sister who has actually totaled the car my parents saved for 10 years for! TO summarize im sick of the entire process and refuse to submit to the whims of a dimwit (if they were anywhere near itelligent they wouldnt be an examinator), and i simply dont have the money to do it all over again. If i ever get a license right now it looks like that will be a pilots license. No idiot examinator and FAIR judgement of your performance. No thought up mistakes or one you cant argue. Just a simple explenation ot what you did wrong not some BS like "You didnt look at that and that intersection out of the 235 we came across i saw you not looking when i was looking at my crotch and not in the mirror because im a spider mutant with eyes in the back of my neck". Fuck that ..... im not playing along with that anymore.

theavonlady 2 Posted April 16, 2002 "National safety surveys show that women are better drivers than men." - Facts on Women Drivers "The male fatal crash involvement rate per 100,000 population was 3 times as high as for female drivers in 1994. Female drivers continue to exhibit safer driving statistics than male drivers. Males accounted for 67 percent of total fatalities, 68 percent of all pedestrian fatalities, and 86 percent of all pedalcyclist fatalities in 1994. 22 percent of male drivers involved in fatal crashes were intoxicated compared to 11 percent of female drivers. 37 percent of female drivers involved in fatal crashes were unrestrained at the time of the crash compared to 47 percent for male drivers involved in fatal crashes." - National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) "Male drivers are more likely than women to break traffic laws in virtually every category raised." - AUTO INSURANCE SURVEY REVEALS WOMEN DRIVERS ABIDE BY TRAFFIC LAWS MORE THAN MEN
Sheriff 0 Posted April 16, 2002 I don't see a problem with a few laws broken, Live and Learn. I'm sure atleast someone here has dragged at a set of lights. Who cares about statistics, I don't need someone showing me all these percentages that have been cooked up by different Government Departments. What i know is Men are most likely to be involved in an accident under the influence of alcohol. Women are most likely to cause multiple fatalities and / or serious injury messing with Mobile Phones, Cosmetic Products and down right Road Rage.

Women are careful drivers, so what!! That doesnt make you a good driver. And of course does the statistic (I guess so) not include the tiny tiny accident (womens favourite) where neither the police nor the insurance is informed. Those scratches on the walls in public garages for example always stems from women, and surprisingly most scratches are always to be found in the "Only for women" parking section. Of course we got Mercedes and BMW as police-cars in Germany. But this is not luxury, this is the obligation of a government to use national-products. It is like the citroen police car in France or the Italian Fiat police-cars. (Now again noone believes me): When Porsche has created a new anniversary-model they always, as a promotion of "Made in Germany" give a few cars to the ambulance and to the police fo their county (not many, maybe three or so). And so in county where the car is produced you can actually get caught by a Porsche-Police, now that is not fair, no way to try to race off! Â Â (and I hope no girl ever touches those cars) Oh, rusty old Mercedes, do still think you can get me Well, I can still go 40 more!!!

Crown Victoria ? Jesus, and they chase speeders down the highway with those. Talk about safety. Woman, in nature are less observant, have slower reflexes, and do not bond well with machines (except sewing machines). I know alot of 17 year old hot shots who drive a Camaro with racing tripes (real creative), but for the most part, I think the best drivers are the most experienced ones. I love it when my friend gets always stuck behind a car making a left turn off a two way street on a busy intersection. He sees the car ahead. He sees the blinker, yet he does not go around. Bad driver ? No. Stupid ? Maybe.
