ivan k 10 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) I am new to this military simulator but i have played VBS 2 which i used while training in the RMC,i read that ARMA 2 is based on VBS 2 engine so i bought it to see what was like. but first i have to say This is maybe the best game i have got so far why is not so popular with the other milltary games like cod which is fun but get boring and battlefield which is a really great game with friends.second what is affecting my FPS is it my GPU or CPU (sorry if am wrong iam not into computers that much) I have a Geforce 9200m and a AMD Athlon II Quad Core which on should i upgrade Third i was messing about in the editor and i made this funny vid on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxSUHSdQLWU:) thanks for reading Edited April 12, 2010 by ivan k
qwertz 10 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) You need a new GFX, CPU is ok. I would go with ATI, ideally HD5850 or above. Oh wait - is this a laptop? If so, you are out of luck unfortunately. Edited April 12, 2010 by qwertz

SASrecon 0 Posted April 13, 2010 or this one :D ARMA2 is underrated because most people don't have the patience to learn & play it.
Flaxpants 10 Posted April 15, 2010 Most media these days is designed for the Quick Fix, as SAS recon said, patience is in short supply these days, it's all about fast amusement and fast money. Arma is different. I spent years trying all sorts of games till I found this- clearly a piece of software built by passion- (if it was money they wanted they could have adapted it easily enough to make a CoD type game),it's what I'd been looking for all along. Now I have no interest in 'games'.

andromedagalaxe 10 Posted April 15, 2010 1. high learning curve 2. takes a long time from release for bugs to get worked out 3. need the latest technology/monster machine to run it at high settings 4. high degree of difficulty in some cases 5. not polished/has quirks that can be annoying (i.e. voices) 6. requires a clan to get full enjoyment from multiplayer If you don't care about any of this, then it is one of the greatest games of all time. CarlGustaffa 4 Posted April 16, 2010 1. Yeah, because it is such a complex and extremely deep game. Can't be made "easy". 2. Yes and no. Before Christmas there could be hours between new betas, currently it is months again. 3. Doesn't all games? I don't have anything near a monster machine, but I can't play any games on high. 4. Not sure what that means. Naturally some things or some missions are difficult. 5. Agreed, but it doesn't really "break" the game. 6. Depends, not everyone is looking for a "true" Arma experience, but coming from other typical action shooters. Most of these guys doesn't want to play realistically. One of? The greatest - there is simply no competition when you're looking for realism and depth, especially on the coop side :) Btw, note that I'm including ACE into that.
