Aeneas2020 10 Posted February 24, 2010 I received some very sad news today. Monkwarrior an active participant in the Red Orchestra and Arma communities passed away recently after battling cancer. I knew monk from my RO modding days but I also know he had many friends on this forum. I thought I would post here and also say that my feelings go out to his wife and family at this time. JdB 151 Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) Our thoughts go out to Albert' wife and daughter, family and friends. We got to know Albert about 6 months ago, after he and a few of his friends offered to help us with further developing our tanks, and the level of tank warfare in ArmA2 as a whole. He was really passionate about WW2 and especially the tanks, and was always looking for ways to implement the most realistic tank behaviour as possible. Getting things the way they should be, or trying again just as long as it took to got it right. I have rarely seen that much dedication, knowledge and energy in just one man. Marcel met Albert in person when they traveled to Belgium together to visit a WW2 memorial day, during which Albert showed that we was as much a friendly guy in real life, always willing to help and teach others about their common interests, as he was online. Aeneas2020 10 Posted February 25, 2010 Marcel met Albert in person when they traveled to Belgium together to visit a WW2 memorial day, during which Albert showed that we was as much a friendly guy in real life, always willing to help and teach others about their common interests, as he was online. I met him on my first day playing Red Orchestra...i was getting destroyed and he showed me the basics. He was a constant source of support on the RO forums and for the Darkest Hour and Mare Nostrum mods. I will fondly remember him as an absolute git with the mg42 in that game but also as a friend and comrade to many of us.
Zipper5 74 Posted February 26, 2010 Though I have not met him nor played Red Orchestra, he sounds like he was a great man. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace.
Aeneas2020 10 Posted February 26, 2010 I should have perhaps also let someone from the I44 mod team for arma and arma2 post the news on this forum. Like i said he was very active in the arma community

Hans Ludwig 0 Posted February 27, 2010 I actually last talked to him on the RnL forums. He we was telling me all about the Inv44 mod he was helping with and wanting to make tank combat more realistic in Arma2. I was wondering why he was taking forever to respond to me. =[
Scrub 0 Posted February 27, 2010 Unfortunate. Peace and comfort to him and to those mourning his passing.
sic-disaster 311 Posted March 1, 2010 It's sad for anyone to die on such a young age. I knew of him from back in the moddays of Red Orchestra, but i never really talked to him except for some random posts on forums like RO's official or Dutch fanbased forum. He then joined the tangodown.nl forums but never got past post nr.1... Now i know why, and it saddens me. Rest in peace Monk :(
