walker 0 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) Hi all We at Zeus http://zeus-community.net/ were thinking it would be nice to run an Open Tactical Training Day on a Wednesday night at 7.30 pm GMT for players who want to learn how to play in a tactical style. The training will be on ArmA II 1.05 NO MODs Each team will be Broken into 4/5 person teams with a Zeus member as fire team leader Basic simple TeamSpeak Communications and use of channels and good verbal reports: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Radio_Comms You should also know how to give good contact reports http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Contact_Reports What will this be about? There will be several sessions and the following tactical aspects will be dealt with; mostly in a normal mission playing environment: Movement and use of terrain http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_II_Hints_and_Tips#The_difference_between_cover_and_concealment Setting up an OP Formations and covering your Arc; Trust Over-watch Bounding Over-watch Working as a buddy team Crossfires Reverse Slope defence http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Defilade#Reverse_Slope_Defense Scouting Actions On SOP Session 1 The first training session will cover 1) Comms Check 2) Target identification and directed fire 3) A maneuver training session 4) A Coop mission 5) Realistic PvP based on a convoy ambush Requirements Places are limited so we ask that you register your interest in this thread we will then PM you additional information. You can filter Throught your normal ArmA II MP browser Gamespy Filter: Zeus #2 Or if you are a bit of a techno head and use IP addresses IP : 77.74.193.124 : 2402 This is the Teamspeak address: Teamspeak 2: 77.74.193.123 Graduation In Zeus you can self Graduate or one of the existing Zeus member will ask you to start playing on the Zeus Addon server, Thursday and Sunday are the best days to play ;) Zeus is very relaxed; about the only thing that is insisted on is that you communicate. You can of course play missions on the Zeus servers on other days when they are open to the public. Zeus Produce new Missions weekly as well as having missions from other mission makers and communities. I'm also creating a large training camp on Isla Duala where all situations can be tested out, from basic obstacle course drills to bounding overwatch, weapons practice, street danger area crossing, ambush withdrawal training etc. mostly based on Dslyecxi's manual. As far as I am aware, there has been poitiions reserved for all those that have posted in this thread and therefore should be no problem at all. People who reserved are guaranteed slots. Anyone else who turns up, if those reserved slots are not filled you can fill them. There will be several members of Zeus turning up to help with training, and to act as opfor in some cases. icebreakr 3159 Posted January 7, 2010 Thanks for the training of my members! We're having an internal drill tonight on Isla Duala v0.991 with newly completed Camp Noobia. List of training: 1. Jogging through forest and crossing water. 2. Timed obstacle course (2 players side by side) 3. Firing range: grenades, pistols, rifles and various AT weapons. 4. Bouding overwatch with pop-up targets 5. Suppresive fire/Flanking (live enemy) 6. Crossing a danger area (live enemy) 7. Breaking contact (suprise attack from 1-3 directions, getting out of kill zone, live enemy) 8. Driving school (with humvees, APCs, M1A1 test drive across difficult terrain) 9.
