Wow I just heard about this news today. I originally flagged this video on 12/07/2011 and sent it to Dwarden as I myself am from Northern Ireland and came across this video. Nocturna i have: e8400 @3.00Ghz stock due to a dell. 3GB DDR2 400Mhz 9600gt lowprofile 512mb ddr3 Textures on 2 sata drives using deadeyes guide. And i run at 1360 x768 resolution with the following settings: Texture: High Video Memory: Very High Anisotropic: Very High Anti:Very High Terrain:Normal Object: Very High Shadows: Disabled Post Processing: Very High Fillrate: 100% FPS Helper 1.21 Frames between 18 and 35, average around 24 in an average online game. Whether i use these settings or 640 x480 everything on low i get no difference in fps, well about 3 increased on average. The E8400 just doesn't seem to cut it with Arma2. If i am getting similar framerates with the much inferior 9600gt to your 5850, the e8400 must create a severe bottleneck. I suspect that the draw distance is CPU intensive as i reduced this from 3km to 500m and it would hit low 30s in chernargorsk in an average online game. But i left it at 1200m as that is the minimum in order to play imo.

Hi guys i have a dell 530 slimline. I was not intending on gaming on it obviously but Arma 2 was too much of a pull. Specs: e8400 @3.00Ghz 3Gb DDR2 Ram 2400 Pro (which is terrible) at 800x600 resoultion im getting between 8 and 35 fps on the lowest settings. Due to a low profile PC my onli option is 9600gt 512mb ddr2 - which also requires another psu which will sit outside of the case Cost approx £130 or... a sapphire hd4650 512mb Cost approx £45 i am only planning on playing arma 2 but i hear arma prefers ati cards, but the 9600gt is slightly superior, but is it worth nearly 3 times as much cost for me? ---------- Post added at 01:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:55 PM ---------- does anyone use any of these two cards? im looking to play on the best settings possible on a playable framerate of 20-25fps minimum. Would a 9600gt on low/normal settings at 1024*1068 accomplish this? what about the 4650 is it much worse?

im sure microsoft would be able to come to an arrangement where they are still allowed to be a freelance developer but still let ms publish aa. microsoft would push this game into the mainstream with proper distribution of this game, advertising etc. After all the company needs sales to survive and ms would help that greatly. ms have published lots of high profile games and this would add to their collection and hopefully benefit bis. the best 2 aspects of ms being bis new publisher would be: 1. it's superior distribution etc and; 2. if a 360 version and it would be very successful, as maxquibit was saying most games at the moment are very mainstream for the 360 bar oblivion, which sold over 1 million in its 1st week i believe. and xbox has a strong fps fanbase and realistic fps fanbase which is still not satisfied Of course there are drawbacks, for instance a linux version wouldn't be made, but i'd much rather see this game see the light of day, be very succesful, be on windows and 360, os opposed to it not being published for a very long time and having just a pc and a linux version for the 3 people who actually use it to game on.

hi, i'm new to the forums, i used to play ofp:e on xbox but then foolishly gave it away beliveing the 360 would rule the roost. how wrong was i. each new installment of previously good franchises are becoming to arcady and frankly shit, ie graw. i am hoping to get some info as to what version of ofp i should purchase for the pc to get the best co op multiplayer experience and was wondering if there is a group of fairly serious gamers to help me get back into this game and pc gaming in general. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does any 1 not think that if bohemia came forward to microsoft, microsoft would be very eager to take on the job of publishing armed assault with microsoft game studios, and with that a possible 360 version as well. I think if bohemia was to attaempt this microsoft would be sure to snap them up if they would agree to do a 360 port to keep a 1up on their rivals. The 360 has a very strong fps background throughout day 1, ghost recon and rainbow six 3 for example but their realism has been consistently diluted to the point where these "realistic" shooters are just about as run and gun as quake 4. graw was a big let down, and given the fact that ofp:e recieved so many good reviews for the xbox, it just seems that if armed assault came to the 360, it would fill the void in the 360s lineup and be a huge success (not to mention making me very happy indeed). Also when i played ofp:e on live i found that many players were put off by the graphics, therefore not giving the game a chance and quickly leaving, however the people that stayed on longer, realised how good this game was and were addicted, and with armed assault looking good enough for people not to dismiss this game from the offset on the 360, people would play it for longer, then they would be hit with the ofp bug and this game would be an instant success. Ijust thought i would bring this up as i am sick and tired of playing crappy battlefield 2, graw and other titles which are not up to scracth compared to ofp, a game which was released yeard and years ago. i am now considering going back to my pc days when aa comes out because of this. Please consider this at least as the 360 following has a need for realism that is not quenched, look at how succesfull forza was and the reviews ofp:e got, ofp:e came into the xbox scene too late but could surely be fixed with a release of aa relatively soon.
