ACE 2 Evolution

Tried this on our server, and unfortunately would load to MP screen then would either crash the server or client with slot chosen.

If you tried mine without ACE then it would most likely crash your server becasue mine is ACE version.

hoping to see a Ace Evo with all the new vehicles and possibly the Pla as enemy.old school got my vote.ta :292:

Well, you can already download that mission, I've done it, it only needs a bit of cleaning of unnecessary scripts, and I will probably include some features as I previously mentioned in near future. But at this moment mission works and has all the vehicles and weapons from ACE.

I would be greatful if you guys could test it and give me reports and suggestions.

My squad server is going ACE in few days, until then I can host it on my PC if you wanna play it. Or if there is someone else who is willing to upload it on their ACE server. I still haven't had an opportunitiy to test this on server, but since I didn't change anything in mission itself regarding AI and concept it shouldn't deffer from original. I only implemented ACE stuff so far and removed MHQs and teleporting. Next step is to make ammo crates handled locally, I haven't figured out that yet and no one is willing to explain it to me...

As for the PLA, since some guys are working on Skira for Arma 2, I thought it may be great to make Skira Evolution with PLA once Skira is done. What you think? Should I wait or make Chernarus version with PLA?

Amazing! Really great idea, if I only had your knowledge regarding AI, I don't know how to make AI attack airport and things like that. And that enemy choppers flying in formation, amazing!

I guess my version will only serve as temporary solution until yours is out :(

There are fe things that I didn't like about yours. First feeling when you start, it doesn't look liek Evo, you start in closed area, and all about Evo is about freedom of choice having that feeling that you can take any vehicle or gun and go and fight. That's what I've ntoiced, maybe I'm wrong. Also there is teleporting still active. I would probably go with a bit different base layout (if you try my version you can see what I had in mind) which would have remind me more of original.

P.S. Man what's your view distance lol? oO Looks like 5k+

thanks man - the mission was totally screwed-up when it first came out - not much worked at all. It was great that someone had tried to port it over. Then Razor got to work on it and made many improvements. I have been porting over many of my arma 1 tweaks and fixing the bad stuff.

added a few new things in to help keep me sane (debugging only is too boring) and motivated

nearing the end - the buglist here is what i'm working on, then ACE, then RED/ BRIT etc etc with server switchable options for teleporting etc. (like Razor made)

the spetsnaz assault took me ages but i learned a lot - working on a few other new bits now. the enemy pilots aspects i have tweaked a lot to fix the original stuff and enhance the gameplay. some might think its too hard now though lol. its certainly very hard to just use UH1's
