Alex72 1 Posted November 30, 2009 Dont think you can with the in game options alone. However im sure an addon can be made to shut them off. But... Why? :D

Im aware the official options wont do it. do you think its a case of finding the pbo and deleting it?
Alex72 1 Posted November 30, 2009 I dont think the tracers are a single PBO, but dont take my word for it. I would guess its in some weapon.PBO or some effects.PBO maybe. Messing with ARMA's standard files arent smart however. An addon would be best for you. Head over to the ADDONS DISCUSSION thread and check top thread "ADDON REQUESTS" and post that you would like to see a no tracer addon. You might get lucky. :)
jw custom 56 Posted November 30, 2009 Under Options->Game Options->Difficulty there's a Rifle Bullet Tracers option, guess thats what your looking for?
Inkompetent 0 Posted November 30, 2009 The existance of tracers are defined in the configs per ammo/magazine/weapon (can't remember which one of them). Shouldn't be overly hard to mod away.

mr_centipede 31 Posted December 1, 2009 I think you can download Pistolfied's Tracer addon and edit the hpp file and put the tracerPer=0 in there. I think that would work... Try a search in addon complete for it
max power 21 Posted December 1, 2009 I think you'd unpack the ammunition pbos and find the config entries that define the tracer behaviour and turn them off with the aid of the find tool in notepad. Then you would move the directory to somewhere else and repack it into some other pbo. Then you would create a mod\addon folder for it, and put the name of the folder into the -mod= switch in the ArmA2.exe shortcut.
no use for a name 0 Posted December 2, 2009 I think the "Rifle bullit tracers" option just enabled/disabled tracers for weapons that normally wouldn't have them...at least that's how it worked in OFP IIRC
Alex72 1 Posted December 2, 2009 Thats how it worked in ArmA as well. In A2 that option has no function.
Mudkip 0 Posted December 2, 2009 In ArmA when the option was enabled every round of every weapon had those laser tracers.
