Operation Arrowhead : no gun sway in crouched position

Recommended Posts

I turned deadzone all the way down to 0 and no longer have the sways in crouch position. :) (at least so far)

The video clip i posted in this thread was with aiming deadzone on 0%!

WTH???? Really? I actually tested with both ironsights and red dots using deadzone 0 in crouch and they are stable as in standing.

I've always had deadzone at 0 and the crouched sway is definitely there.

I have aiming deadzone set at 100% so

-I can simulate the low ready-high ready positions. Besides a lot of US weapons have big optics mounted on top of them this makes detecting targets quickly a hindrance, so I stay in low ready most of the time so I can have a clear view of what is awaiting in front of me. For me, 100% DZ gives better immersion and better results in CQB (and at the warehouse:D).

- I have a crappy graphic card, I think this setting helps my comp to give a more stable performance. When I switch targets the graphic card doesn’t have to draw and re-draw extra stuff on the side of the screen everytime.

Besides as others have confirmed, the misalignment happens regardless of the aiming deadzone setting otherwise, I would have compromised.

(misalignment with aiming deadzone @0%)

ok, tested it one more time in action today and yes, there is a slight sway front and back in crouch even with DZ 0. But hey, its still hell a lot more stable than the sway I get with DZ100, which was why i missed it in the previous tests.

Tested. Crouch position semi with M4 targets at 300m all on target, no sway, no problems aiming.

You're doing it wrong.

What is the point of testing if you don't believe the results? I haven't experienced this problem either, so there must be another factor.

As I said before, it depends only on the angle you're aiming at, deadzone has zero effect on it from my testing. Repeat these steps:

-Launch the provided mission

-Do not move

-While still standing aim at the red target marked by the waypoint, and notice how everything is nice and dandy.

-Crouch and aim at the same target again

-(Optional) If you wish to see results faster, accelerate time.

-Remove your hands from the mouse and keyboard, just to make sure you're doing the same thing as I am.

-Over time you'll notice extreme sight deviation, to the point where the front post disappears behind other elements, like so:

I was thinking headbob but that didn't change anything.

Haven't read all through this but, I had this issue with my units and after adding a definition in the config telling them that they used USMC_Head it stopped all sway.

Good thing its sorted in 1.05

Yep noticed that just now. :)

Lying down = very steady (good!)

Crouching = no more drunken style aiming (awesome!)

Although I didn't perceive the same issue as others, I'm very glad that the issue is fixed for those who had it!
