UnkySammy 10 Posted October 27, 2009 Hi everyone. I was wondering if any of you have tried the Darkest Hour mod. The mod focuses on realism and has some epic infantry fights as well as tank battles. Since I discovered it I very rarely play anything else. Many other DH players have been saying the same thing. Anyway I just thought I'd share my joy for the game with other WW2 players and I hope you will check it out. If you have any questions I'll see if I can answer it. Here's some info on it: Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45 is a western front modification for Red Orchestra. It focuses on the Allied invasion from the Normandy campaign in 1944, through the failed Operation Market Garden in Holland and beyond the Battle of the Bulge. It covers not only the intense infantry battles the campaign is so well known for, but also includes the epic large scale tank battles that took place in the later stages of the war. Beta 3.0 is currently available for download on Steam Official website: http://darkesthourgame.com/ Darkest Hour trailer: See you on the battlefield ;)
Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted October 27, 2009 What epic large scale tank battles occurred on the Western Front, outside of Afrika?
Hans Ludwig 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Darkest Hour is a good game to rest next to Arma2/OFP1 and other sims on your shelf. It has a good community focused on making the tanks realistic as possible. When I'm not playing Arma2, you can see me on the tank on servers smiting down my enemies in my King Tiger.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted December 6, 2009 What epic large scale tank battles occurred on the Western Front, outside of Afrika? Op. Goodwood had 3 British and Canadian armoured divisions plus 7 independent armoured brigades versus a similary sized German armoured force. The allied OOB was heavy on armour because the infantry were severely understrength. The American Op. Cobra that followed on from it was similarly heavily armoured, though not usually regarded quite so much as a "tank battle".
Aeneas2020 10 Posted December 6, 2009 I created DH along with a friend about 3 years ago now and was project lead until last year when I left. Glad to see some people are still playing but I would also like to add the guys still on the team are doing an amazing job keeping the project alive :). I wish them all the luck in the world in the future.

sudayev 27 Posted December 10, 2009 Whoaa! I haven't played RO since ages. Looks like I have to refresh this fine game. Western Front was something I've been missing in this game and finally.
