SASrecon 0 Posted November 15, 2009 I have the same card and use "Default" for vid memory and vary rarely crash Can you compare the performance on default and very high and see whether it makes a difference in performance?
kklownboy 43 Posted November 15, 2009 Can you compare the performance on default and very high and see whether it makes a difference in performance? It wont. What it can do is allow you to us more shadows/textures.... with out crashing, Basiclly Default is for well over 512MB of vidram (like a 1GB) all the others are for less or = to 512MB. _Hurricane 0 Posted November 16, 2009 I added this bug a few days ago to the Community Issue Tracker. It might be worth it to give a vote to the bug to bring it to BIS' attention. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/5796
markushaze 10 Posted November 16, 2009 Hi all. Dont know if this is related, but i have an Out of memory error as well. this one comes right after saving a game in single player.. Game runs perfectly, even saving generally works well. Sometimes however i get this message Out of memory error Then the game just quits to desktop, Arma2.exe is still running in task manager. Have to stop the process to be able to get rid of it:-( Anybody else experience something similar? Greetings
_Hurricane 0 Posted November 18, 2009 That's what the topic is all about. Everyone else in this topic is getting the exact same error message.
MJK-Ranger 0 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) No problem here. Have been playing some custom made SP missions for almost 7 hours today :) I have never seen "Out of memory" on my system before with Arma. Is this "Out of memory" message only happens in MP ? rekrul 7 Posted November 18, 2009 Why would the dedicated server use VRAM? Isn't VRAM Video-RAM, i.e. the memory on your graphics card?

rekrul 7 Posted November 18, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_of_memory OP is asking why his dedicated server is running out of memory, tons of people says change your VRAM settings, I ask if VRAM is relevant (actually ask what VRAM is), you post a link that explains what out of memory means? _Hurricane 0 Posted November 19, 2009 VRAM is indeed Video-RAM. I have no clue what can cause the Out of Memory issue on the dedicated server.
Rexxenexx 0 Posted November 20, 2009 LOL! I'm gonna steal that image, I hope you don't mind. :D A couple things. Put the "-showScriptErrors" command in your shortcut (on client). I play with that all the time and I see on major servers that their are errors. So it could just be a bunch of endless loops -probably when people JIP- building up and building up until death. Increasing the pagefile should make it last longer but also show the slowing (as a -logged in- admin type "#monitor" to see the servers FPS). You guys already noted the RPT. Report what you find. TOTAL22 0 Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) A similar topic about crashing dedicated servers started by me has received some attention by experts. > http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=89039 It seems that the arma2.cfg settings are very important and links very tightly to out of memory errors with dedi servers. see post > http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1485584&postcount=19 Do note, that it still does crash occasionally, but it was a major step forward. We are still in need of a permanent solution for this problem though. Edited November 24, 2009 by TOTAL22
