VariousArtist 19 Posted August 26, 2009 Hello! I play since patch 1.02 and Arma2 never gave me any 16:10 resolutions beside 1680x1050 and I dont know whats wrong. Ive set the resoltution to 16:10 but no other res shows up - neither render nor screen res. When I edit my preferred res (1440x900) into the arma2.cfg I have to write protect it so it does not automatically default to: Resolution_W=1280; Resolution_H=1024; Render_W=1280; Render_H=1024; So, whats wrong? Why is there no other 16:10 res? Does Arma2 even support 1440x900? Why does it default to a non-widescreen res? Thanks for help! Helmut_AUT 0 Posted August 26, 2009 I run at 1920x1200, so there are other 16:10 res supported. Can you set your Windows Desktop to 1440x900? I suppose A2 simple takes the available windows resolutions, if your desired one isn't in windows, it's not gonna be in A2.
ICE-Raver 10 Posted August 26, 2009 My hero, I wrote "BESIDE 1680x 1050" - next time read before posting I know what you said smart ass hence the "I can't speak for any others" portion of my reply. Seeing as how you can't even figure what resolutions are supported without forum help, I figured you needed all the feedback you could get.

VariousArtist 19 Posted August 27, 2009 Hm, seems my monitors max and native is 1680x1050 but I have any smaller 16:10 setting available for the desktop res and all games that support 16:10. And now that some peeps get the 1440x900 res I still wonder why it does not show up here... And why the game resets me to a 4:3 default... Ive checked with the 3 latest drivers without change and windows supports it without problem... Maybe anybody else have the same problem? Could help to nail that prob down! thx for replies
BCA Cat Toaster 10 Posted August 27, 2009 I´m playing at 1920x1200 and can choose smaller ones like 1680x1050 or 1440x900. What display are you using and is it connected via DVI?

ICE-Raver 10 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Its a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW, 22" and connected via DVI, yes. 226 BW is the exact same monitor I am using and 1680x1050 is the native resolution for it...........Why are you trying to run 1440x900 on it in the first place?........... Edited August 27, 2009 by ICE-Raver

Steakslim 1 Posted August 27, 2009 I got 1440x900 into the game by adding the resolution in my Nvidia Control Panel's list of resolutions as a custom res. If you do that, the game should recognize and even list it in the Video Options. At least it did for me.
pj[cz] 2 Posted August 28, 2009 Hi, ive the same samsung monitor as you do and i can see all the 16:10 resolutions in arma2 options (1280x800, 1440x900, 1600x1050). So its not the monitor itself. Ill check nvidia/ati driver options if you have these modes available, if not than add them manually
vasmkd 12 Posted August 28, 2009 I use 1680x1050 resolution on Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW but added 1440x900 and 1280x800 as a custom resolution in nvidia control panel. Since i added these ARMA2 now lets me choose them in the options if needed thou 1680x1050 runs fine for me with smooth gameplay

Fortunatly the monitor interpolates nicely! Thanks for the tipp with the alternative resolutions in the Nvida options. Ive tried it and noticed that my damn Nvidia panel crashes when I try to open it. (seems I havent used it before on this rig) Reinstalled the same and different drivers and the same happens. Really weird. Maybe some windows components are fubared - have to check if I can repair it. So I stumble from one problem to the next, hehe! Thanks alot for the input, guys!
