ok so i have completer these tasks

find the evidence

destroy the house

secure documents

now i go to inspect the FOB, i kill all the guys at the bottom of the hill, i make it up to the waypoint, and see the dead marines, i run around, all over the base, i see the local militia come in, and then NOTHING HAPPENS, i have run around for about 10 mins, if i move to the very rear of the base, i get shot, if i move my men to the exact spot i get shot, they are fine, then i move their, and get shot

if i call the helo to extract, we die instantly when we get into the helo

WHAT IS GOING ON??

anyone else have these same problems?

---------- Post added at 11:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 PM ----------

the men come all around me, but i cant talk to any of them, at this moment, i am kneeled with my team, EXACTLY on the waypoint spot. If i go too far south or east i get killed by no one, if i call the chopper i die, wtf do i do????

am i at a point of no return?

Hrm, have you talked to the

marine who then dies

?

I am assuming you have since the milita has shown up. Once you talk that guy, go talk to the milita officer. this should give you some scripted dialogue options.

If you have talked to both of these people, or are unable to talk to the milita leader after talking to the first guy, then you have probably run afoul of one of this games 843274623151987576478123454780 scripting errors and will have to revert.

If I remember correctly, the actions you took with the priest with the weapons cache earlier in the game affect the dialogue with the milita officer.

That's what I did. I never fought them even when I left base. I also couldn't complete the mission while getting docs either. Exactly what you said happens...no scripted scene. Good Luck:bounce3:

I had a great scenario:

Talk to the NAPA leader, follow him down the hill into an ambush, twelves times in a row he shouts "Car!" and gets shot. Most of the time the Chedaky kill me. My favourite was when I hung back, hit the ground as soon as he died, tell my team to get down, seven NAPA run 10m past me shooting at the ambush standing up, and the first burst of machine gun fire stitches four bullets into me... dead.

The few times I survive the ambush, the NAPA leader never does. Any surviving NAPA have nothing to say. No indication of the location of the car. Nobody on the forum has ever posted a grid reference for it so I don't know where it is (grid anyone?)

I finally replayed it taking the chopper (hairbrained for a recon marine in SAM country). Lets see if I can get away from the crash site. At least I now have a functional/useful way point :~

Just for the record another big thumbs down for the super cheesy zone of death player control. Really bad design choice BI. Free reign is not really free after all, is it? Not much choice in mission resolution when it relies so much on particulars of scripting.

I tried for a couple of hours to get south after the death of the NAPA leader (one of the times we lived :P). It seemed totally logical. Recon marines in tip top shape and a forced march to evac, seemed perfect. "How do I keep dying?" I think. What a let down to have come searching here for the problem. There is no Santa Claus, just track A or track B.

I replayed the Manhatten mission but it took me a long time to find the enemy base this time. It was in a different place than the first time through. Anyway, by the time I find the base it's night time. Luckey I have my night vision goggles and so I call in the artillery and blow the camp to bits killing almost everyone. I then finish off the rest and in the dark it's easy peasy as the enemy don't have night vision goggles on them. :)

I then go back to Manhatten and Shaftoe tell me to get some sleep as we're leaving in the morning but we have one more little mission first to find some evidance. I don't find any evidance and have to fight my way back to Manhatten. I kill everyone at the bottom of the hill first and then go up to find dying Marine who explains what happened.

I then walk up to the rebel officer and he gives me a choice to go to via NAPA or call in Helo.

First time I go with NAPA an we get squeezed into a tiny sedan. Quite funny dialog in the car but we get discovered and although we try to fight our way out we always get killed and so I reverted back to FOB and called for Maddox and the Helo.

Interesting thing here is that he comes in over the sea nice and safe but decides to go back over the land and we get shot down by a SAM.

It's dark when I come to and we have to find the NAPA safe house. Now here is where it plays differently than the first time I played through.

We have to trek for about 2 km with an enemy Helo looking for us but lucky it's night time and we still have our NVG's. Unfortunately when we get to the NAPA safe house, all the NAPA guys are dead and if we hang around too long we all get killed by about 20 enemy. So here we trek all around looking for NAPA in towns and then go back towards the town where we met the NAPA Priest. As we get close to the town in the dark a guy finds us and tell us that the Priest has gone and that we should go back to the safe house. At least that's what I think he said as the captions didn't display long enough for me to finish reading them. Round trip about 6km. We do this and find an enemy ambush and so running away again because too many enemy to kill (this time they have NVG's), I decide to force march south to the pickup point in that town a long long way away.

After treking about 3km south there is a cut scene where are found by friendly CDC forces and that's wgere Badlands starts.

The interesting think about all this is that the first time through (with version 1.02), after getting shot down in the Helo, all the NAPA guys were alive at the safe house. BUT IT WAS DAY TIME and not night like the second time through????

Now I'm doing Badlands but with the CDC and not NAPA and this plays totally differently as well.

Aint we got fun.... :)

Cheers,

Luke.

Same EXACT thing is happening as OP. I run over to the waypoint and get shot from ? I have tried looking around and there are no enemy men, just a million militia coming out of the woodwork but I dont see anyone shooting.

I think I quit this campaign, because trying to get up that hill is impossible and theres just too many bugs. Oh yea did 1.03 fix this?

First time I played this, I didn't realize that I was supposed to talk to the NAPA guys (thought they were marines) so I drove south like a million times and was auto-killed without realizing there was a kill zone because, frankly - it has nothing to do with ArmA. If I manage to move through enemy territory, let me. Or atleast have the guys stop and say something like "This is stupid, let's go back and call in chopper/go with Napa" to atleast give you a hint about what's going on.

Also, the first time I set a timer on the satchel so I made it back to Manhattan just as the bomb went off. The camp was fine, game saved and suddenly the screen went black for a second and then I was surrounded by death and mayhem. Quite funny really as I didn't know that was going to happen.

I had no problems getting up that hill in 1.02, nor in 1.03. In 1.03 I just raced up there after setting the satchel on a timer. Gave me enough manouvering space :) In 1.02 I didn't help NAPA, now in 1.03 I did (just to check the difference). In 1.02 I was subject to the zonekilling. God how I hate such solutions... In 1.03 I was told to get into a small car (my balls were bigger according to the dialog), but nothing ever happened when I did. If I killed the driver, mission would end. So I was sure that was what I was supposed to do. But it actually worked using the truck, and it didn't even trigger any zonekills. Instead USMC just decided to leave early. Much better solution than zonekills where you spend hours trying to figure out what the hell you're doing wrong (should have used the chopper and get shot down). After reaching NAPA I decided to go for the CDF instead just for the difference. I came up on a corner right after auto savegame. CDF opened fire and ended the mission. Reloading, nothing happened and the game ended like it was supposed to. Ahh.. The bugs...

I've got 1.03...........

Agree to help Napa back at FOB.

Call in Maddox.

Maddox gets us shot by SAM.

Maddox yells..."Going down!"

I yell.........."Get us down, Maddox".

Then, game saves, I get "you sorry ass" music like I did something wrong.

Splash screen with results says.....MURDER........for killing significant ally. (Anybody get this one?)

I CANNOT get beyond this part, even after reverting back to my save at the FOB......

SUCKS!
