DodgeME 0 Posted March 16, 2002 Well in war there should be more derbis flying right? How about making more debris from bullets and tanks shells and other explosive. It would add to the atmosphere. As for requiring more power well more and more peeps get powerful computers. I doubt they shall make it in a patch or smt like that but how about Resistance or OF2? Damage Inc 0 Posted March 16, 2002 Maybe when I get a better computer
Mister Frag 0 Posted March 16, 2002 If it is a configurable option like the "Cloudlets", "Shadow" and "Blood" options, it wouldn't cause a real performance hit on lower-end systems. I like the idea.
PFC_Mike 2 Posted March 17, 2002 Debris is a great idea, and would add a lot of atmosphere. So would mud. If you've ever looked at photos or RL military equipment (Particulary vehicles) they are covered in mud and dirt. There is no such thing as a clean AFV! Aculaud 0 Posted March 17, 2002 I'll second that. War is just about as dirty as it gets. this could add much more of a lifelike effect to the game
Stupid-Git 0 Posted March 17, 2002 Well, when a tank explodes, there is debris, but it doesn't cause a performance hit because it's a 2-d layer in front of the screen (like rain). All they need to do is make them more "meaty".
Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 17, 2002 I'll third that! I also think that there should be way more burnt-out vehicles on the three islands towards the end of a campaign. Don't you guys think that Malden, Kolgujev, and Everon are a bit clean for a war zone? Where are all the tank ruts?, Ammo dumps?, Empty ammo boxes?, Dead bodies? (besides graves) and where's the mud? I would be cool (if it can be implemented) that the buildings would start off nice and neat but would slowly deteriorate as a campaign went on. And if you went on a mission and blew up a tank or UAZ or what have you , and on the next mission(s) you would still see the burnt out remains of it. Just an idea.... Tex -USMC- 0 Posted March 17, 2002 Damn, these ideas are great. You heard em, the poepl want their damn debris!! lol
DodgeME 0 Posted March 17, 2002 We would like that also for the upcoming artillery units. In addition the idea of the game detecting where u destroyed the tanks in the last mission would be great. It would add to the game.

They already have models for burnt out, rusting jeeps, urals and M113's. All they need to do is add one of those for every vehicle. The hard part would be telling the game to replace every destroyed vehicle in the last mission with one of the burnt out models in the next.

Cloney 0 Posted March 18, 2002 Great Idea Tyler, I'll second that! I remember making a mission on Everon where there are burnt out tanks in some villages and some civilians burying dead soldiers (not really but they are standing near graves and such) There are even some crashed helicopters and empty camps with tents and dead people. The Airport is also in ruin, crashed planes and blown up tanks scatter the parimeter. I'll see if I can dig it up and e-mail it to some of you guys.
