MG soldier can even shoot a M1A2 TUSK and destroy it!, I think it's a logic error

Recommended Posts

ARMA2 v 1.02.58134

I make a experiment, and it surprised me. when i put a M1A2 TUSK and some red groups, i found that some bullets flied to the tank. those soldiers are MG soldier.

So i put one M1A2 TUSK withlout ammo and one red MG soldier, the soldier shoot the tank whihout any hesitate...and MG soldier can shoot the tank from and face.

I don't use T90 and BLUE MG soldier, but I think it will be the same.

And the other problem is why the loader in M1A2 TUSK only has "turn on" status? There is no "turn in" option for loader.

thats becouse OFP, ArmA and ArmA2 all use a hitpoint system..

meaning, enough hits with any weapon will destroy it..

it´s just a matter of how many hits it takes.

so yes, known issue.

Its a real pain in the arse when your buttoned up crew get killed inside a tank by light MG fire, im pretty sure BIS could do something about that without too much effort!

Just as an example (not that one is needed, its common sense) there is a German king tiger tank sat outside La Gleize in Belgium, now used as a memorial, but when it was abandoned in 1944 American soldiers decided to use it as target practice with bazookas, firing round after round at it & none penetrated, so im pretty damn certain that a modern MBT with reactive, sloped armour can withstand a bit of MG fire!Hit points on tanks & APC's in this game should only drop when hit with AT weapons, missiles or artillery methinks

Totally unrelated but just to show off lol, heres me with another world war 2 legend

Sweet^^ I love German WWII tanks! Anyway, surely they can do something without having to create a new penetration type damage system. Writing in some sort of exceptions to the damage or armour values of the weapons or vehicle, would do the trick would it not?

thats the only Tiger tank in the world that actually still runs as well, the museum spent a fortune renovating it! was great to see it driving round the arena!

La Gleize you say... I think me and my tank thieving kit might have to pay a visit. The Tiger and King Tiger, truly were amazing pieces of kit and virtually untouchable, especially on the western front. Some Soviet tanks by the end were able to challenge them more but the German tank kill/death ratio was pretty terrifying overall.

Lucky guy seeing one of those beasts in action!

I didn't catch the picture when the tank was injured, my importance is that the MG soldier can shoot the tank automatically.

I bought powercolor X1950PRO 512M for ARMA two years ago. Now i plan to buy a new one when DX11 comes.

My setting is normal without shadow & AA & AF &postprocess.to upload these pictures I made them less quality. Do those pictrures look so bad?

I think I find the result!

It's my fault I didn't go on exam with other kind of tanks or soldiers. I just exam it again, and I found that even M2 MG soldier didn't shoot a T72, and even a pilot can shoot a M1A2 TUSK. this coudn't be explain by BIS's hitpoint system.

How does this happen? I put a M1A1 with out ammo and a MG soldier in the map again, of cause the soldier didn't fire. Then I as tank commander turned on, the soldier began to shoot me, and I quickly turned in, but the soldier still keeped fireing.

Finally I know when crews is in "turn on" status, the enemy will shoot them but not the vehicle itself. When crews turn in the enemy will keep firing at the position where the crew was at the last time. This phenomenon also happens in ARMA.

But there are some differences between ARMA and ARMA2. In ARMA, even the tank is out of ammo, the soldier will run away when he sees a enemy tank. But in ARMA2, the soldier won't run away, just be prone or stand as nothing happens. But once you turn on, they will shoot you, and shoot the tank indirectly.

this picture below is a red pilot shooting a M1A2 TUSK, because the loader is too conspicuous!!!
