flake 10 Posted June 30, 2009 is shooting from the hip less accurate then using the sights ? doesnt seem to be. maybe they should increase spread and remove that dot when shooting without using the sights.
dvolk 10 Posted June 30, 2009 Funny thing is that if you turn on float zone and move the cursor within in, the dot lags behind the spread indicators But if you turn it off, the aim remains perfect when you turn left and right. ArmA turning into CoD? More likely than you think.

Crosshair can be disabled in the difficulty settings, servers can force this too :)
maddogx 13 Posted June 30, 2009 ArmA turning into CoD? More likely than you think. Blasphemy! Shooting from the hip is in fact a bit too accurate when the crosshairs are on. Better to find servers that force it off. :)
sneakey pete 10 Posted June 30, 2009 If you look in third person view, its hardly "from the hip", its more like "weapon raised but not looking down the sights"
whisper 0 Posted June 30, 2009 Yup, you never shoot from the hip in ArmA
alan.rio 18 Posted June 30, 2009 Our servers disable the cursor/crosshairs, the third person view and some other unrealistic stuff in all difficulties. A lot of people like it that way and it much more realistic.
-s!Gm4- 10 Posted June 30, 2009 Speaking for myself: I quite dislike first person - and mostly play even without ironsights. I think the crosshair in third person is something just like the first person ironsights. And yes, it already has some decreased precision - sometimes you need to aim higher/lower (and this is NOT related to bullet drop) to hit. I think disabling (third person) crosshair also means tanking the option from the players to play in third person properly.
walker 0 Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) ArmA turning into CoD? More likely than you think. Burn him at the stake!  :D Lol should make certain people in the CTF crowd happier But for the rest of us we always turn off cross-hairs, and set to first person. Big Dawg KS 6 Posted June 30, 2009 Sights/optics give you more precision than crosshairs, but reduce your situational awareness. Accuracy has nothing to do with it. Use them both in appropriate situations.
topeira 10 Posted June 30, 2009 i would really like the dot in the middle of the crosshairs DISABLED. just give an option in the menu. we know that BIS loves to gives options, which is fabulous. also i kinda like using both 3rd person and 1st person but i almost never use crosshairs. not even in 3rd person. that's because they are too arrucate where i have no need for the iron sights, and i love using the iron sights. using the sights is making the use of the gun more realistic and more immersive. CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) Shooting from the hip is in fact a bit too accurate when the crosshairs are on. Better to find servers that force it off. :) Negative on that. I'd rather have a mod that allows crosshairs for everything except pistols and rifles and launchers. Forcing off means you get no locking indicators or laser on/off indicator. Forcing pretty much suck. Edited June 30, 2009 by CarlGustaffa
