What ever happened to coop?

What ever happened to coop games like in ofp. Everyone remembers missions like Black op halo or POW. Whatever happened to good coops like that??

All people do is play evolution or other forms of respawn coops. This game used to be realistic when it was called operation flashpoint and actually had ppl planning how to complete an objective. Now its just hop in a vehicle, kill as many enemys as possible, rank up, die and repeat. NO TEAMWORK.

I hope this game brings back COOP servers like LOL funhouse or 007 Vets coop server.

i do play tougether , even in domination :) much more fun!

But yeah its true what you say , i see ppl loggin in and says nothing and play alone ..i do not understand that you know ..but its not only arma i saw it in other games also.

It is indeed a distinct lack of proper coop servers. Mostly due to the lack of missions at the moment I think. Most coop-missions are in-house ones used by only some specific clan server, and the most 'popular' game modes are the 'no cooperation ever'-ones like Evolution and Domination (at least that's how they've appeared to me through ArmA and ArmA2).

I strongly suggest you try to find some community or clan to play with that have more structure and people that care about actual teamplay.

Public gameplay in *any* game is terrible, and despite its nature ArmA is no exception :(

That way you get access to the locked and hidden clan servers. Many of the clan servers play coop. I spent 4 hours playing coop, this evening.

I don't agree only a closed server provide a quality game. I played for years on an open server with regular players and random people popping in all the time. that was the best online(maybe best game) i've ever played.

Some PPL don't have the time to get involved, or put the time in a clan would require, but still want to pop on randomly for a good game.

remember a map with an immediate close group of AI can cull the Noobs from a game as fast as the kick command. :)

No respawn co-op is not dead at Phoenix Soldiers.

Phoenix Soldiers is mature only members, tatical gaming realism group. This group is over 10 years old and has 40 members, average age is late thirties. We hold only no respawn co-op missions.

I too am dismayed at the lack of no respawn maps on servers out there, but they will come (fingers crossed).

I too dont have the cash for a server or the time to invest in a clan, so more of these servers would be great.

They ARE one or two out there though, but maybe on higher ping servers than you are used to joining for example.

Ehm, it's fully possible to play coop with respawn?! The problem with these mainstream missions are the instant respawn and no need to be careful. I upped the respawn in Domination from 20 seconds to two minutes on our server (need to edit several things in the mission), and the stupid players left us. Mission accomplished. Those who stayed was interrested in playing in a team.

Because of these mission designs, it attracts a lot of players who couldn't care less about teamplay, and will run & gun like crazy.

Also, Arma2 is just out. In fact I haven't even got mine yet. Patching is needed to make it more stable. Norespawn nojip simply isn't playable at this point.
