Barso 10 Posted June 18, 2009 I have been looking forward to this game since ARMA1. Got it today and what a total disaster. I have re-installed twice and get so many bugs it's actually quite funny now. I cannot select anything highr than normal in graphic sttings texture detail, video memory and terrain detail. The textures do not load on objects. And with a core i7920 OC'd at 3.4, 12GB RAM and a GTX295 it runs awful. Straight to the back of the queue with this game. manzilla 1 Posted June 18, 2009 Yup. I've been playing the German version since launch and the game plays great with a lesser system and everything on Very High.

I have been experiencing probs on similar setup. Run the game like this. Rename your arma exe to crysis64.exe and in the shortcut use the folllowing flags -winxp -nosplash -world=empty cpucount=8 maxmem=2047 (world=empty just makes it load quick :P) That may work for you or may not, I am waiting for 1.02 patch and hopefully next nvidia driver to solve my issues. Barso 10 Posted June 18, 2009 Hello everyone, new nvidea 186 driver released today. I am getting mouse pointer lag and textures not loading. What can I say? The game is clearly a mess. What's with the 12GB reply?
Binary 0 Posted June 18, 2009 Hello everyone, new nvidea 186 driver released today. I am getting mouse pointer lag and textures not loading. What can I say? The game is clearly a mess. What's with the 12GB reply? .. How can it be the game's fault, that you get errors after upgrading to a newer driver? That's clearly nVidia's fault.
Barso 10 Posted June 18, 2009 I am reverting back to 182.50 to see if performance improves. What should fillrate be set to?
bushlurker 46 Posted June 18, 2009 try 100% for starters Barso - and read around a few threads - particularly the stickys here in troubleshooting - try the Armaholic one for starters... Welcome to the show soldier B
Barso 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Anyone with nvidia cards, revert back to 182.50. No problems at all with those drivers. Great game and performs as advertised with those drivers.

LT. Razgriz 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Using a EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 on Win 7, I actually got worse performance on the 182.50 then on 186. No idea why. Can't wait for driver optimization and some added performance from patches, as otherwise I love this game.

maddogx 13 Posted June 19, 2009 What is your level of detail and view distance set to?I have both of mine at the maximum level,200% and 10,000 I think. And you actually get playable framerates on those settings?
Barso 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Yes the game is playable, not perfect but playable. I have everthing else at very high apart fro shadow quality at high. What should view distance be set to?
nedley 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Practical view-distance (infantry) needs be no higher than 2000. For air, no more than 4000. Change it accordingly depending on the type of mission your playing. Please in future try to TROUBLESHOOT before TROLLING. Get yourself an FPS counter and play with the settings to find your optimal. Some-times, higher settings in things such as terrain give higher FPS.
maddogx 13 Posted June 19, 2009 Yes the game is playable, not perfect but playable.I have everthing else at very high apart fro shadow quality at high. What should view distance be set to? Actually I get better FPS with shadows on very high instead of high. Must be because of a different rendering method. As for view distance, 3-4km should be more than enough. You won't be engaging anything above that anyway, so it's mostly eye candy. I would also recommend setting posprocessing to low, as it makes the image look less blurry. If the game runs well for you with 200% fillrate, congrats. But maybe it would be worth trying 150%. There is still an antialiasing effect and it's a lot less demanding than 200%.
