CZ/ Czech Republic ArmA2 Release & Deadfast's special post about the special edition.

Recommended Posts

Due to the complete lack of official details on the Czech special edition I hope the moderators will forgive me creating a new thread on this subject.

I purchased mine personally just a few minutes ago in a JRC/Game shop in Centrum Chodov, Prague.

It cost me 1,599 CZK (60.5 EUR, 52 GBP, 84.4 USD).

The contents:

  • Backpack in woodland MARPAT with silver ARMA 2 logo
  • Olive drab t-shirt with long sleeves, 27th MEU Marines in black lettering on front and a small ARMA 2 logo in black on the back
  • Wallet in woodland MARPAT with silver ARMA 2 logo
  • Soundtrack CD with 21 tracks in a transparent thin jewelery case
  • High resolution paper map
  • 4 post cards with Chernogorsk, Chernarussian sights, Chernorissian Country, Protected area (CHKO) of Jizni Zahori, "Greetings from Chernarus"
  • Game jewelery case packed in cardboard sleeve
    • DVD-ROM with the game
    • Czech manual with CD key on the back
    • Default controls layout cardboard chart

Photos can be found here.

Sorry for the poor quality - I had to take them with my cell phone as the camera's battery died out... Recharging it at the moment, will post some better ones soon.

Hi guys, IDEA games should have their release today (17th) but some specullations appeared that they will release it up to 30th. Have you got any information about it or they will realease it 17th +/- 1 or 2 days?

Yes, i am talking about CZ release. I though that you could know something about it because of fact that BiS is part of IDEA games.

Yes but your post was extremely unclear as to whether you meant CZ box version, Sprocket version or whatever else :)

IDEA Games is just a PR/Marketing office, and BIS are one of the companies that IDEA do the PR/Marketing for, there's not "IDEA version of ArmA2" :)

Sorry about that. :sorry:

Yeah, i know. But it should be released 17th and then appeared some problems (and false news) so i just wanted to know, what is the situation...:bounce3:

I think everythink was answered so you can lock this thread (or delete it - Its up to you) ;)

Well CZ release is a separate release so it should have its own thread (which I don't believe it has yet??), so no harm done, and you can tell us when you see it in stores there ;)

I just went to my local JRC/Game (Centrum Chodov, Prague). I was told the special edition was delayed till this Friday (19th).

Didn't ask about the normal one though, their website says neither are available.

Damn, I should've ordered from Xzone too, but no, I just had to order as fast as possible from JRC just when they had Special Edition it on their website..

I'm just playing minesweeper these days and checking my email and jrc.cz account every 10 minutes, lol. Typical example of a fanboy I guess.

Man, that looks awesome. I wish they would do something like this in the UK for once *sigh*

You're the first person who publicly posted photo's of all the Special Edition contents, good job. I like what I see.

Now I know what can I expect, when JRC FINALLY sends my special edition to me. (If I don't get an email/confirmation that they sent it to czech post by tomorrow, I'm going to explode with anger)

Never been so excited because of a game before :x

I'm so jealous....I wish they'd release an English (UK) version of the SE. :(

I guess demand/production costs are not worth it?

I want a map like that on my wall...

Could of gotten it a 100 CZK cheaper, but I didn't realize I could pre-order it without having it sent...

Deadfast, you made me want to jump into my car just to drive about 10 hours to the nearest Czech city in which I can buy the special edition and drive another 10 hours to where I live to play it. Anyway, it would probably be cheaper and faster than if I ordered it by mail (when ArmA came out I ordered it from Czech Republic, payed two times the price at which I could buy it in Poland one month later and received it about week after Polish version was released:j:). And the Polish ArmA2 publisher still has release date set to "year 2009."

i was thinking about the special edition as well, but i realized i would probably looked like a geek with that ARMA 2´s backpack on my back:)

i hope there will be some option to buy the game soundtrack separately.

If someone from the BIS office sent me a huge map like that, i'd grill them all christmas carp.

Hmmm... I would like the map and soundtrack, but not sure about the rest. This zippo lighter seems cool though, not sure if it is (hopefully) in a UK special edition? Or just a one off for the competition?

OT: Read theG57's post.
