datter 0 Posted November 6, 2009 datter what size of VRAM is each 880GT and are you running it in SLI or non SLI ? Vram on each card is 512mb, and running in SLI. From what I understand it should be seeing all the vram on one card in this configuration... so the full 512, which it did prior to going to 8gb.

kklownboy 43 Posted November 6, 2009 ok first off is your shortcut set up to USE the beta; "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\beta\arma2.exe" -mod=beta I can see you dont have the; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=""; GPU_MaxFramesAhead=""; in your CFG? On a side note try using HDRPrecision=32; High AA is kind of a killer on the frames.

Using Vista or Windows 7 you might need to change the compability setting in the files properties (right click on the file opens context menue ) for the BETA ArmA2.exe (file location: *:\*\ArmA 2\beta) to run it always as administrator. If you fail to do this and you start the game via the BETA Shortcut ( you will find it in the game mainfolder ), you might still run the standard 1.04 patched version of the game. If you don´t see the version number *59928 when you start the game you are NOT running the latest Beta Patch and you can´t judge on it. Result would be wrong info for the lads working on this issue. cross 1 Posted November 9, 2009 Great information. I am adjusting the VRAM heuristics to handle your situation better (revision 59949). The problem was when you have really lot of RAM and only 512 MB or less of VRAM. I think even with the values detected above the game should work quite well, still I guess fixing it will only make it better. Hey Suma... With the BetaPatch 60000, Arma recognizes the VRam properly on my Win7x64 + 6GB RAM + 8800 GTS 512k rig. DOA 20 Posted November 9, 2009 i suggest You try upgrade to 195.xx beta drivers from NVIDIA ... there are some irks in 191.xx btw. anyone with dual/triple/quad SLI tried yet 60k build ? I am stuck at work until 5 PM EST (GMT-5) I will be trying beta 6000 when I get home tonight. I'm running ArmA 2 on an Alienware Area 51 X58 Wartime PC. Dual Quad Core I7 3.06 GHZ, 12 Gigs RAM, Dual nVIDIA GTX 250 overclocked version in SLi mode, Win7 64 bit OS. My issue is that since upgrading to Win 7 (11/07/2009) ArmA2 runs and looks great for a few minutes then frame rate starts to drop, graphics start to white a little and then Crash to desktop. I'm sure this is the too much RAM issue. I am hopeful that the beta 6000 will resolve this issue. I will post results here as soon as possible. Thanks. Edit: I forgot to mention I will try the 195 beta drivers also.

DOA 20 Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) Beta 6000 .exe works for me in Sli. with no switches or limiting RAM in msconfig etc. :) Also: My 12 gig RAM issue seems to be resolved by adding these switches to the current public .exe: -winxp -nosplash -world=empty -maxmem=2047 -cpuCount=2 I run the same switches with the Beta .exe and I pick up about 5 FPS. I have not loaded the nVIDIA beta 195.x drivers yet. I get smooth play and average 25 - 30 FPS with view distance ~3250 M. I have played for about an hour with no crash but I did not fly all over the island I was on foot most of the time. I will try flying all over the island and report back if I have any issues. Thanks!
