I know at least one aussie that had absolutely no problems to pay the money via credit card, download the game and getting the key. I also fail to see why they should cheat you, that's hilarious.

You get what you paid for, it might just take longer than it's normal for you. And with a friendly email you get much better and faster results than with swearing and threatening.

What I could think about is that the payment must be confirmed first and that this takes longer if cards from US or other international banks are used.

Would everyone also please keep in mind that we here in germany have office hours? It might be normal for you that you get customer support 24/7 but that's (unfortunately) not the case here.

Customer support also usually is slower here and not that highly motivated than in the US. Possible that they have only a couple of people working in part-time jobs just a couple of hours per day.

Also: depending on which timezone you live we're 6+ hours ahead of you.

Of course this all is no really great help for you now, but it might get you an idea that things are... different here. :)

Edit: Some more things:

* If you write the email, include your order number (if you have one) in the subject.

* Also write in simple english sentences, you never know how good the english is on the other end and complicated sentences, maybe with slang into it might just confuse them.

I understand Wolle. Just for the record I have been very polite in any e-mails I sent I'm a firm believer of mutual respect.

What you said does shed a whole lot of light on the situation for me, this is my first time purchasing anything online like this and I have to admit I'm pretty nervous about it.

I also did not realize that Metaboli may not be a 24 hour service. Good to know.

Well I had similar dealings with Metaboli who made me wait 12+ hours with a barrage of e-mails between us. They kept telling me to hold on and I'm not encouraging you to be testy but I really got sick of their runaround, and told them I'm an old forum head and hopefully they care about keeping their reputation in tact. I got my key 5 minutes later... I really don't know what their agenda was in making me sit around all day waiting for a simple e-mail, but I can tell you, they're not ripping you off, but defnitely playing some weird games.

Swearing and threatening? I have been nothing but polite.

4 days without a response and only a $1.00 a minute phone number as a possible means of recourse (which I refuse to call) is completely unnacceptable.

Good business practices are not country specific. I deal with many German companies that are stellar examples of great businesses. I'm not implying that Petergames scammed anyone, but I am dubious of their business practices.

I do, however, contend that they are a very badly run company with lousy customer support and I would advise anyone thinking of buying ArmA 2 to think twice before using Petergames as a means of obtaining the game.

And all the e-mails I have sent only get me automated responses, I havent got a real person from Metaboli to answer me at all.

14 hours later and not a peep.........

Now I know what wolle said about buisness hours and such but in ethne's case? 4 days without response? come on that's really pushing it.

I bought the game yesterday from morphicon/metaboli.

First I got a mail with download links but no CD key.

Today I received a similar mail with download links and WITH CD key.

Definitely not "instantaneous", so don't freak out, but not 4 days either.

for the record, I'm in France and paid with Visa.

It was 10 hours since my purchase, I emailed them not even 5 minutes ago, and I got an immediate response with my key. I gave them my order number with it, so maybe that had helped the process.

Edit: I had used the subject line in German, which said Kleine CD-Key. I'm not sure if any German would make things go faster either, but I am sure a simple online translation for key things you want to say wouldn't hurt.

Well, you guys were right. Lo and behold I finally got my key today. It took around 23 hours to get it.

So like everyone has been saying, just be paitent with these people.

I also waited over 24hrs and also never received anything other than an automated responses to emails. When I finally did receive my cd-key there was an english message explaining that they we're fallen behind in sending out the keys since the demand was more than they had anticipated.

Took me about 12 hours to get mine. I would send them an Email. I sent 2 after about 8 hours.

No idea if it helped but I did get the code after. The email is in the Original Email you got with the download links.

I would write it in german though. Use a Translator online if you need too.

Bet they are making a fortune off this release. Which is why you guys need to release these games WORLDWIDE within the SAME WEEK.

I have spent the last 2 Releases of your games in the USA being 2-4 months behind the curve. And I was not going to play that game again this time around. Even though I did finally buy the 505 version of Arma like 1 month after its release.

Well things haven't turned out too well for me.

Finally got my key and all that but my download must be corrupted somehow, I dl'd twice from Metaboli just to be sure but every time I try to install I get a host of errors about corrupted pbo files.

Buildings2.pbo

Characters.pbo

structures.pbo

tracked2.pbo

weapons.pbo

All these are corrupt, I can start the game, I can even get into the editor but all the soliders units are missing and if I try to start any missions or campaign I get a crash.

I know this really isn't the right forum for this but does anyone have an idea for what I should do?

Does metaboli have a support forum?

I have tried to email them today but have recieved nothing but automated responses.

First thing I would recommend is mass e-mailing them with a demand for either human explanation and personally I would want human contact. I explaned it before in this thread why their reaction times seems to be a bit slow, I won't do it again. Go a few pages back and read.

So far I heard only about one person who had one or more corrupted files, all other downloads obvious seems to be fine. I would either use their download manager or give Free Download Manager a try. Direct download of such huge files I don't recommend.

What a nightmare.

I am very, very unhappy with Metaboli thus far. I can handle having to wait 12 hours to get my activation key.

I can even handle the fact that their installer looks like someone made it in ten minutes and that they used screenshots from OFP: DR.

What I can't handle is being told after spending 8 hours downloading that a gazillion of the PBO files are corrupted, then re-downloading the first bin file (there are 4) only to have the installer not even start after that, instead giving me this:

Runtime Error (at 46:4764):

The source file is corrupted.

Of course, since their installer wasn't programmed to give any specifics, I had to move all of the files to separate folders and see which one it doesn't like. It asks for the fourth bin first, accepts it, then asks for the first one and gives the same error.

I've downloaded that one file four times. That's 8 gigs. Not only is it not working, but now, if I re-download the installer and try to use it, then it won't even accept the fourth bin.

No idea what is going on. I just know that I didn't pay 60 dollars to put up with this crap. I sent an e-mail (in German) to Metaboli. I sure as hell hope what other people have been saying about their support isn't true.

I never used their installer, just downloaded the bin files & .exe then istalled without issue.

By installer I was referring to that .exe. It worked the first time, but told me during installation that the PBOs were corrupt (not all but most).

That's when I re-downloaded the first bin to see if that made a difference - and now the installer won't even start.

The extractor Morphicon provided me with for the installation of ArmA 2 had a serious flaw: it showed me a picture of OFP2: Dragon Rising instead of ArmA 2.

I now sincerely doubt if Morphicon has any clue of the game they took on to publish.

Hi all - I am trying to download the petergames german version here in the uk, but there is no Uk/gb/england in the country drop down box, so I think it stops my payment from going through. I selected 'international' but it did not work. Any ideas?

My good run has come to a halt

After Install we come to the Securom section add Serial Key.

It provides a Lengthy Unlock Request code not CD key at the bottom so i copy and paste that.

All i keep getting is Activation Failed with the option to Activate Manually:mad: with new Request codes. Mummy:(

Some one walk me throught this please

You copy paste your cd key in there not the unlock request code, worked fine for me.
