Is this Chernarus or S. Zagoria? If I understood it well, it's only the easternmost part of the Chernarus. (and I hope there will be some datadiscs with another parts of the country incl. capital in that river delta :-) )

Btw some closer map (huge ingame one) should be released, too. Not now, but later or with the game itself it'd be nice..

Westmoreland, yes its south-zagoria or the playable part of Arma2s map (missing "Utes" island of course)

If you expect something where you will be able to see individual buildings or some such, I think you are SOL until the game comes out (or perhaps a demo, if one is released).

That's the best you'll get for a while.....

So it is not an island? What happens when you reach northern or western borders? (in plane or on foot)

You enter the land of Narnia...

Seriously, no one knows for sure. We do know that there is some kind of landscape beyond the northern and western edges, but how the playable map transitions into those mysterious plains is anyones guess. Perhaps it's just a mirrored version of the playable map. Maybe it's procedurally generated... it could be anything. I assume there is is some kind of invisible barrier preventing you from walking or driving there. Planes and helos are probably forced to turn around.

It's really the last big question... "What is beyond the edge?"

US will shoot you for desertion. In a plane or heli, they will warn you and then shoot you down for crossing airspace. On foot or in a vehicle there will strong entrenchment of forces guarding the border and landmines everywhere and in case you wanted to cross territorial waters, there will be mines, coastal guard and sharks :D

And if nothings stops you, there are still the zombies, UFO's and....the white rabbit.

But in fact, I can't imagine how they will make realistically that you just can not walk out of the map...and I have not found any info about it yet.

I have not found any info about it yet.

The only info I can remember is some old interview where Suma was asked about it, and he said it would probably be implemented very late in the development cycle. Other than that there's only speculation.

I could imagine several different possibilities, all with advantages and disadvantages. Maybe BIS came up with something totally innovative. It's definitely going to be one of the first things I check.

I thought in some previews they said that it's just endless terrain

I think you missed the point of the discussion. :)

We know there's endless terrain. The question is what this "endless terrain" looks like and how it is joined to the actual map.

Forgot to add the "random". I think it's just woods and hills.

Maybe you'll g into the future and see master chief and say "woops wrong game" and go back.

You never know what BIS's sense of humor is capable of.

By the way, its strange that there are no rivers. :butbut:

Well, you obviously want a really big one, but the community is not sufficiently endowed to satisfy your needs. Maybe you can ask BIS. I bet Suma has a huge one.

What do you need such a big one for anyway? ;)

Anyone know the coordinates for south zagoria.

Sorry W0lle.

Can anyone tell me what is the lenght of the airstripe? 2,5 or 3,5 kilometers?

I measured it on the map given in full sized view that the airport is 2.2cm long, all that is needed is the scale, if its 1km to 1cm then the runway is 2.5km long.(theoretically)

There's no such thing as South Zagoria, but you can cross reference with the cz region. However, the in game world might be scaled. Who knows.

Rotating the place over the north/west would be strange.

Maybe a solution that people would accept is this:

You look down and you only see clouds, and in the end there's water.
