  1. 1. As a NON Arma1 player, will you buy Arma2?

    • Yes i will buy Arma2 and its finally the true successor to OFP1
    • Yes i will buy it, but its not a successor to OFP1
    • No i won't buy it (whatever reason)
    • No i won't buy it, because its still not worthy to call it "OFP successor".

One of the poll options should have been, "Will you buy ARMA2 if bis has used the same 1/2wit beta testers as they did with ARMA ?" :j:

I honestly did'nt think ArmA was -that- bad as everyone said it was. Yeah it had its issues, infact the same issue that OFP had. Performance could be a little dodgy and the AI has this thing of 'spazzing out' on random.

Clearly everything that was wrong with ArmA1 was because of "1/2wit beta testers".

I haven't played ArmA1 or OFP. I just came across the game trailer on youtube.

The whole idea of this game, the realism, the graphics has got me so interested that i can't stop thinking about it.

I have never been so exited about a game since... ever :-)

I actually really dislike run and gun games where the missions are like - Kill all enemy soldiers - Progress to the next patch of land by following npc's - Kill all enemy soldiers and so on.

I want to explore stuff, get to know my enemy, use tactics, play like I am in real life, talk with the civilians, secure areas. I also want to know the backround of the group of people i am killing - Like the nationalists, know their cause, their most know areas etc..

Hello IrishGuerilla!

I'm quite sure ArmA2 will be your cup of tea then. Just remember to be a little patient when playing it first though, since it's a bit rough round the edges. It's not hard to get used to but it can feel a bit stiff before you can get your grip around it. I think that scares off quite a few people who'd otherwise enjoy the game if they'd just give themselves enough time to get used to it.

Yeah i realise it's a completely different genre than most games so i will devote a lot of patience to it. But the whole idea behind this game really excites me and is different to anything i have played so i hope it takes my favour.

By the way, i haven't not played ArmA1 by choice, my current laptop will not play it, so i am ordering a new PC in a week or two - for other games too of course, it should be able to play ArmA1 as well as ArmA 2.

This is one game i'm not going to rush, i'm willing to spend at least an hour on each mission : ). During the summer i will be awaiting my results to see if get into uni, this will hopefully take my mind off it.

I never bought OFP1, I thought ARMA 1 was more appealing.

Wow, aren't you a smart one? Do you know how many games have patches in the first few days after release? I can't remember a single one recently that wasn't instantly patched.

Even better is how fast the patch is out. Other situations you got devs taking a week or two to get their first patch out. That can seem like a lifetime to rabid gamers.
