maddogx 13 Posted June 19, 2009 So am i gonna be ok? Just scrapes through then minimum specs i spose? Hmm, the CPU will be a problem. The rest would normally be enough for medium settings, but that P4 D isn't going to do you any favors I'm afraid. Thought about upgrading? ;)
Minkey 10 Posted June 19, 2009 ok thanks, i see the demo is out shortly and will give it a try anyway, If it gets close to playable in the demo then ill buy and hope a few optimisations improve my experiance as the patches get released.
echo1 0 Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) and hope a few optimisations improve my experiance as the patches get released. There are benchmarks about two pages back of CPUs (and they do it using a faster graphics card than the one you have). The one at the very bottom of the pile is faster than the one you have. Even if the patches could improve performance by 2-3x, your CPU would still be far too slow to run the game... I'm afraid you'll need to replace your 5 year old CPU Edited June 19, 2009 by echo1
Minkey 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Ok thanks for the responses all, may splash out on a Q6600 if i get a feel for Arma2. Im very impressed with the videos ive seen so far.

Bigtnaples 10 Posted June 19, 2009 I just randomly impulse bought a 4890 1GB last night. I was not planning on upgrading my 4850 for at least 6 months to a year. But what the hell. It was only $135.00 and it should get me the best framerate possible in ArmA 2. Anyone here actually PLAY arma 2 with a 4890? What kind of framerate are you getting? And what settings are you able to achieve? BTW I am new to these forums so hello to all.
Razorman 10 Posted June 19, 2009 If you've upgraded as you say then you will get a 2-5fps max increase in performance, this game is all about cpu & NOT gpu. Oh, hello & welcome ;)
ChrizzleNL 10 Posted June 19, 2009 My Specs are : E8400@3,2ghz 6gb Memory 800hz DDR2 4890 OC And my FPS are solid in Singleplayer like 50-60 FPS . But in MP i guess it depends on the server , in one match i've got solid around the 40FPS , but im other matches i get Max 28 FPS. So my question is , is the FPS depends on the server you playin ,or how can this be so different ?

Razorman 10 Posted June 19, 2009 More like 15FPS. See here. Lol, not you again..he he. I stand corrected sir BUT it all depends on his cpu :p
echo1 0 Posted June 19, 2009 Lol, not you again..he he. And I love you too. A Q6600 would be more than enough, especially if it's overclocked.
Razorman 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Aye, if he overclocks it, i suggested that to another user today with the same cpu as mine (below) & he said "on no it should be fast enough at stock speeds" (2.83ghz), he wouldn't entertain the idea...he he
ChrizzleNL 10 Posted June 19, 2009 No in Coop i've almost evertime got a solid 30 Fps , so i can live with it And with the patches comming it only can get better i guess
sgriffee 10 Posted June 19, 2009 Would this game run at a playable speed (20-30fps) using a Nvidia 7600 GT with 256MB of VRAM? Lowest settings is fine. Cheers!

Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5750(2.0 Ghz) 3 GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB can play fairly recent games and i don't have to play on high settings or anything, but can i play arma 2 while still enjoying the game?
