anc 0 Posted February 9, 2009 Hi, I have a dedicated server, and yesterday i stopped the server to upload some missions, after that i started the server again, however i was getting stuck with "wait for host" screen. Other people tried to connect in the server and they also had the same problem. I changed the server config several times, removed all the missions that i had uploaded, and still was having the same problem. The only way to pass through the "wait for host" screen was setting some class missions. After that i tried to enter in another server and i had the same problem, a friend of fine tried too and he had the same problem. After a few hours everything went back to normal. welcome to hell 23 Posted March 9, 2009 I have the same problem very annoying, once waited up to 40 mintutes on "WAIT FOR HOST" screen before getting in the server This happens to me at random times at random servers, sometimes i connect instantly sometimes over an hour on "wait for host" and no response. Yoma 0 Posted March 10, 2009 I'm not sure, but what happens if no mission is selected and you're the only player to connect to server without logging in/voting yourself admin? Doesn't the screen then also stick on wait for host? (Maybe you just have to log in,type #missions and select a mission?) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
cross 1 Posted March 10, 2009 It takes more time for teh server to respond when restarted.. It needs to load the map for the first time etc... Once you load a mission, this problem should go away and it should respond more quickly..ie for the ones trying to connect to an existing mission. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
welcome to hell 23 Posted March 11, 2009 Ive been on wait for host screen again for around a half hour than as i came back to my computer i saw people talking on side and group chat. (Maybe you just have to log in,type #missions and select a mission?) i think that is the problem.... u need inside ur server.cfg to determine at least the first mission...then it will be automatically selected when server is restarted... with no missions determined from server.cfg you get the msg "waiting for host" and someone needs to login as admin to select a mission...or vote for a mission...
