Beta test plan ?

I'm new to this forum and I don't know if a Beta test is planned for ps3 ou xbox360 ... Can someone answer ?

there won't be a beta but there will be a demo when the game is released.

Xbox360 and PS3 releases are going to be later than the PC release because everything has to be ported and changed etc.

its all up to the publishers in the end so i guess u'll have to wait and see

We don't even know if it's coming for PS3 or Xbox360 at all. I'd guess no at this time.

Where did you get the idea that is was not coming for XBOX360? I assume that it will be a simultaneous release. The only platform that has not been mentioned anywhere is PS3. I'm getting the PC version, but why would they delay XBOX360-version? Usually it is the PC version that is of secondary importance.

ARMA2 will be mainly for PC,

the Xbox360 version will/might be released later and is of less importance. ARMA2's release is for PC and next gen. consoles but BIS and their publishers haven't actually officially confirmed console releases yet

In those early videos BIS also clearly stated that not releasing the game for console/s would be stupid with the dimishing PC market.

I was surprised when they announced the console version. I always thought that modable simulations were PC exclusives.

Just as long as the PC version has a good mission editor and is modable like ArmA1. I definately have a green light for purchasing the ArmA2

Xbox360 would be the logical choice for a port if next gen meant current hardware. The term is so vague that all you can really get out of it is that they will be making some kind of console version.

ArmA2 is one of the very few games out there that is being designed for the PC first and then ported over in some fashion to console.

Same game just won't usually work for both consoles and PC. Shooting with PC keyboard+mouse combo is more accurate. Many console versions have very little or no weapon sway. So with PC shooting is no challenge at all even after running etc.

PC does not have force feedback so many of the console physical effects are not possible. Menus that are ok for computer monitor are too small for TV screen etc.

Bis made original ofp for xbox 1 so they will most likely make A2 for Xbox 360   Don't worry guys it will be o ut this year  I belive  

Besides I think I\ve even seen in some of the GC 08 videos that they had some of the Xbox interface things in the menu's even though i think they showed the game on pc

Xbox360 isn't a next-gen console since it's release in 2005.

It is a seventh generation video game console, which is the current generation.

A next-gen console would be the successor of the Xbox360 (and Playstation 3, if it gets replaced) and Wii.

You are right. Sorry about the inaccuracy. Was referring to rumbling effects which PC versions usually do not have. Just trying to point out that because whenever devs make just straight ports (same content for all) some platform suffers. A successful adaptation takes into account the specific features and possible limitations that the hardware has.

Both wrong.

1. Next Gen could mean anything. Like the Next Gen, and not the Current Gen.

2. BI links to dozens of websites, that doesn't validate everything on them. Especially not some random Slovak gaming news site that nobody's ever heard of.

It's not working out, that's why. They are afraid to make any promises they might not be able to keep.

My bet is that is not XBOX360. It is the black box from Japan that has caused many grey hairs to devs before, not just BIS.

Yea it seems some people don't know what the word next means

The Xbox 360 and PS3 are current gen consoles, because they are out now!

As for what BIS means by next gen console, we will just have to wait. It's strange that they haven't said which console(s) but maybe they haven't finalised their console plans yet.

Aw c'mon I've meet real game dev people and they refer the current gen consoles as next gen consoles sometimes  

And Its highly unlikely that any new consoles would apear during the financial crisis.  

anybody that pokes his head out into the flow of information that flies around out there in the net get that hardware sales go down and software still sells decent.
