SFP5: Distant Conflict

Hi, i've found a "few" bugs, in the editor using the spanish language

many of the vehicles display names are not shown in booth air and

land units; i didn't try yet the naval things and i only tryed a bit

the modern stuff. This is what i get after install the Mod using the

QG + Arma Effects 1.9 + my own replacement Mod folder, and load

the South Sahrani island in the editor and then exit (without put a

single unit in the map):

And this a bug that i found in the captive soldier:

Seems that all the (modern) units use the .rvmat from the BIS

pilot for the BDU and the standard unit .rvmat for the helmet;

that don't have the band arround or the holes where put the

camo that you could find.

Also, seems that the .rvmat it's too strong in all the AK5s, that

for some reason... everything (AK5s and ground vehicles) shot

more to the left than to the center of the sights. The Special

Forces group (tropical) seem to have a bug with the boonie hat

shadow, and well... you've seen the unfinnished Glock and it's

shadow right?. Let's C ya

You tested revision 15 without ACE right?

Many problems has been fixed for the Sfp5: Distant Conflict version, such as the glock and the 7,62 errors

The wierd shadows on the captive is because of using hiddenselections to minimize the number of models.

dunno if its possible to work around.

You should really try the DC version with ACE, The revision 15 was a bit of a bastard "last release before sfp5:dc"

I'm for standalone SFP5 Mod/addon + if splitting than into coldwar and modern (distant conflict). This mod/addon dependency isnt that user friendly even for your own work and project plans.  wink_o.gif

Hi, i don't use the ACE mod, so im also for the stand alone SFP5,

i could say more... im not interested in the not stand alone version.

Now more bugs on the stand alone version... the AK-5C equiped by

the Northern Battle Group soldiers, it's the only weapon that shots

more to the right than to the left between all the ones that i've

try:

The Reservist with the M-45 SMG have a cap under the helmet, here

they'll remove that cap (and the helmet) slapping you until booth

will fall to the ground, but here they allow you (asking first) to wear

a Jeep Cap under the helmet in what we call "cold days":

And the wounds (i felt very bad shooting down a swedish soldier):

The wounds look like more like ketchup to me than blood; i think

that the v1.14 BIS blood textures will look better than those, and

as you can see... there's no blood on the vest, what makes me

think that's a huge Tampax M.O.L.L.E.-II made vest instead a

cordura vest, but well... "i could be wrong..." >>;-) that's all what

i've found yet into the stand alone SFP5 version. Let's C ya

Hi, as far as i know... this is the SFP-5 status:

They've a huge work to do on the units, booth models and textures;

also on the weapons, in the vehicles... and in the choppers. They

also have a very big job to do on the config and scripts; booth in the

modern desert and standard units as in the 80's units, so we gonna

have to grow our patience; but keep asking, at least that will keep

the thread alive. Let's C ya

The work is as the_shadow said at a painstakingly slow pace for many reasons. We have had many people saying that the ACE requirement was a bad idea for sfp:dc and the swedish mod community is busy surviving the cold, dark swedish winter (and maybe waiting for Arma2).

But i would like to say that the mod is not quite dead yet. Im trying to iron out some of the bugs that was in the semi-internal beta release, but im no scripter nor a modeller so this will take time. But im doing my best harassing the ones that originally made the models/configs/script to at least put out a somewhat bugfree sfp:dc

im waiting for ArmA 2

and if i feel the game has the feeling i like i will try to lay some precious time learning to mod for it, and then maybe help with the SFP stuff

but for now, im just waiting for ArmA 2 and trying to iron out a growing pile of real life shit...

Subroc, keep up the work and convince gQ to get back in buisness again wink_o.gif

Well here's a little something

I'm repainting TheSun/jagy's lovley sf landie for the SSG usage.

Hopefully it will get new weapons m2 in the top and ksp 90/59 in the passager seat.
