I knew Status Quo were getting back on the road but I was not ready for this! Going on your previous work I am looking forward to commenting on this once I have played it. Thank you.

Seems potential, but the squad leader gets stuck when he disembarks during the cutscene, thus the cutscene won't continue.

You know, the one where chopper comes to the island, 5 km from sahrani, lands, and then the squadleader disembarks and saying, "Everyone out!" or something like that.

Edit: I'll report any more bugs I'll find, but now, I'll go and play this-->

The maps are nice but still, there some bugs, the map in which there you start in the brdm has many problems due to ArmA pathfinding.

1st Mission is just: Burtal need to make a little easier, i mean come on 4 people vs a whole guard with armored vehicles, maybe reduce the U.S. Soldiers or/and give the player an AT. My AI soldiers do nothing they got all killed in 1 min.

2nd Mission had no problems.

3d Mission was quite good but the BRDM scene was awful about 3 times i had to start over cause i didnt manage to dissembark as our T-72 killed of the enemies, the only time I won was when our Tanks killed the enemy by themselfs and saw no action.

4th Mission and I never managed to get past the last missions cause whenever i got out the BMP "We had too many casualties" = Mission Failed, but i cant do something about it, the AI M1A1 PWN our T-72s, and i dont even have an AT to change this situation. Need to weaken the enemies or whatever.

Generaly i might describe it as not good to play but thats not true all the missions except the first one were enjoyable and gave a battlefield feeling, with all those platoons having their own plan etc. I think it can be a really great campaign with some improvements.

Nice "Part One" thank you!

Agreed that 1st mission could be little bit improved so it really stealth (Bizon) and player has to cut off this radio station near tents and send signal via additional searchlight or little fire at beach. Firing flares would alarm all others. The other part of the mission should be done with stealth too. Bigger surprise + confusion. wink_o.gif

3rd mission maybe add some CRRCs and place some troops into cargo seats of all ships.

4th mission was ok only those AI act like bloody greenhorns.

Waiting for "Part Two"! Will try campaign with additional stuff like Truemods etc.

Anyone got any good tips to the 1:st mission?

I'm basically getting overrunned by the enemy due to fact that well, I don't really have time to tell my own AI-units how to pull a trigger while killing the enemies that just keeps coming.

-mod=DBE1;@NWD_Ballistics;@NWD_ScopeFix;@SIX_Pack1;@TrueMods;lowplants;q11_jams;@UnitAddons;@EA

ddons;AACFSOUND

That's what my single-player .exe looks like.

NWD_Ballistics, changes ballistics to "realistic" ones.

NWD_ScopeFix, basically same as the above, but with the scopes.

6th Sense Pack1: basically "UI"-mod, also, changes some effects and adds player-side bleeding system.

TrueMods: Another UI mod, removes the magical iron-sight zoom and adds realistic values to the FOV.

Lowplants: Shader-mod, increases the performance.

Q11 Jams: Well, this adds jamming possibility to the weapons, shouldn't affect the AI though.

UnitAddons: Well, this is quite obvious one, this is where I try to put all the "custom" units and vehicles.

ExtraAddons (EAddons): This is where all other stuff goes, I mean, Islands, markers and all other that kind of custom stuff that I don't want to be loaded when I go to MP.

AACFSOUND: Sound mod.

So basically, I have turned off all the addons that affects the AI while playing SP-campaign.

But then again, it might be just me that has gotten used to have human-players on the side, taking cover and so on without having to tell them so.

Edit: Also, I get error message while starting or loading the campaign:

Cannot Open Object: ca\buildings\tovarna2.p3d"

Things I have tried so far:

Blow up the bridge, take down the sentryes, rendezvous with the squad.

a) And go to the lighthouse, from where I try to attack to the city itself. Allways ends up badly because of those vulcans, and due to fact that you can be flanked quite easily.

b) Stay near the beach and try to get near the blown up bridge, rarely works because of those mg-positions and due to the damn vulcan that basically literally rips your squad apart if it even sees you.

Edit3:

Jesus christ, I've had enough, AI in arma is just too goddamn retarted to be effective in SP. Things that happened so far:

AI going to water and start swimming, resulting in AI-unit without weapon.

AI-unit firing 3 rpg rounds to the ground instead of that vulcan.

AI-unit getting lost in less than 100m trip.

AI-unit generally making idiotic decisions.

While campaign seems to be pretty damn good, it just can't be helped that the stock AI is crap, thus making the SP pain in the ass.

I did the campaign in Veteran, and boy, that first level made me want to put my head through the monitor. Some automatic saves would be nice, even if just for mercy's sake -I used up my save about 5 minutes in, which is just ridiculous. I did, however, manage to finish it, which is a bit insane, since you have 40 minutes even IF you secure south Iguana. Thank god for ACOGs and AT4s.

The second mission was OK, but I'll remember not to use Mateck's Abrams in the future. crazy_o.gif

Same with the third mission - couldn't complete it until I removed the unit replacement - Granite was dead within about two minutes... whingy bastards.

The fourth mission I didn't manage to complete - our BMP2 was axed the second I got out of it, killing everyone but me and a medic who got up, ran towards the fuel station and was promptly ventilated.

Lovely cutscenes, great voice acting and it's good to play from the other side for once; I'll just recommend that people don't play it with any more addons then those recommended, unless they are cosmetic changes ONLY.

After reading previous messages regarding the M1A1 I decided to equal the odds and used a T-90 replacement. Flew through all missions on a more equal footing. I never had the problem as CyDoN had, once an AT guy was killed just load up with his weapon and the enemy vehicles were toast. The last mission was a little awkward as some enemies just stayed out of sight so I had to hike around the peninsula to get a clear line of sight on them, once flushed the T-90's polished them all off.

Pretty reasonable, my only gripe (and it is minor) are the briefings and subtitles which were littered with typos, so all in all pretty good, well done.

Use a different browser for now.

I had the same problem using Firefox for a little while, I switched to IE to get problematic files but for one reason or other the issue resolved itself. I now use Chrome and as yet not had any issues with it.

The problem with Firefox is that u still use the version 2.x.

Update to version 3.x (3.0.1 or something might be the latest one) and the problem will disappear.
