Hiho all together!

I've been talking to Wolle and he thought it would be good idea to open a new thread for it. Because the movie isn't finished I avoided to post in the arma video thread. If there is any problem, feel free to contact me.

I'd like to show you my project which I'm working on since June 16th 2008. It's a sequel to the Operation Flashpoint movie "The Crate", well somehow anyway. Altough it continues the story of the first movie, there is no relation to it.

The status of the project looks this way:

- 10 chapters have been created with 64 minutes of completed video material (ArmA ingame)

- at least 5 further chapters will follow, but I want to have 20 in the final state and a total length of 90 to 120 minutes!

- the movie will have a resolution of 768x576 px, I guess that'll be a good compromise between quality and size (the movie has a size of 457 mb right now (wmv file format))

The story arc contains 2 "actors", John and Stan. John is 40 years old, unemployed and alcoholic while Stan is 38 years old, ex-us-marine and single. By the way, John is the guy with the jamaika hat and Stan the guy with the "My father was on Nogova T-Shirt"

Because the movie had been developed very spontaneously, the story arc is very "liquid". Don't expect hollywood niveau There are some other characters in the film like Habib the fuel seller and Evan the AAN network anchorman. Every character is played by the AI! (Well except for some scenes where I took the control of the actor)

The movie will be a mixture of Blackhawk Down, Independence Day, Postal 2, Hot Shots, Full Metal Jacket and Armed Assault. Close to the release (I'm targeting christmas 2008), there will be a trailer.

Consider this movie a high tribut to the creators of Armed Assault and the many highly talented modder out there. It is really amazing what you can do with ArmA and for me it is definatley more than just a game.

There's a whole bunch of standalone addons I'm using, no real big mod. Almost everything is included .. 6th Sense tracers, fromz sound mod, maddmatts arma effects and lots of different vehicles, units and objects.

If you want some mini previews, look at these two video clips. During this projects I learned to love the ArmA animations. They may be sometimes annoying while playing but they're perfect for video clips.

I've used no animation scripts It's all about the timing ... Although there are lots of animations in the Bohemia Interactive Wiki and in Mr. Murrays Editing Guide I recommend the example mission "Animation Viewer" by Ofpec. It should be somewhere around www.ofpec.com

Heyho everyone,

here's my current status:

10 minutes of chapter 11 are finished. I guess that's 50 % of that chapter

I'm a little bit behind my schedule because of some private issues and some technical problems. After setting up my system again I had trouble with my audio configuration. That sound of the movie was totally awfull As soon as chapter 11 is finished, I'll release a few pictures.

I still have to think about the final plot

It's been nearly a month now and here is my status report:

- Intro + Chapter 1 - 15 are completed

- I'm currently working on Chapter 16 (50 % finished)

- Osama Bin Laden will be in the movie (guest appearance)

- Trailer 1 is almost finished (90 - 95 %)

- Trailer 2 is also almost finished (80 %)

- Currently there will be 18 chapters in total + Intro + Outro + Deleted Scenes

- Total length of the movie is more than 90 minutes right now!

- release date in summer 09 is still up to date, maybe earlier

- There is an "ArmA 2 fraction video cameo" in the movie
