Halochief89 0 Posted July 24, 2008 Vimeo now has released a new rule where now they won't allow game videos. “We are no longer going to allow game walk-throughs, game strategy videos, depictions of player vs. player battles, raids, fraps, or any other video gaming videos that simply depict individuals playing a video game,†reads the posting. Videos falling into this category will be subject to deletion as of September 1st, while new videos of this type will be removed. Ouch for those people who use Vimeo to post their vids of them gaming. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed....omments

SaBrE_UK 0 Posted July 24, 2008 They still allow Machinima and I reckon the proper reason was bandwidth: Quote[/b] ]they say gaming videos are significantly larger and longer than any other genre on Vimeo, and have been the single biggest reasons for their sometimes long transcoder wait times. kegetys 2 Posted July 24, 2008 Well, they just lost alot of popularity right there huh? Â Or gained alot, I had never heard of the site before and now everyone is spreading this "news" around... It may be news if youtube did this but that site doesn't seem that big. And it is up to them what and how they provide their (free?) service.
max power 21 Posted July 24, 2008 I can see why any administrator for such a site would want to make this decision. Not everyone has google's means to spend 1 million dollars per day on a video hosting service.
