Knight's Armament PVS-22 Night Vision Device

Recommended Posts

In order to add some " Spec Ops " taste to my sniper rifles I modeled this one.

It is mounted right in front of usual optics and adds a NV capability. Model is finished, will be mounted on my Windrunner .50 SD, on a M24 and on a Barrett 107.

Here you are a fast preview.

Cheers, GH.

Are you planning to try to script it so it actually works in

the game as a weapon-mounted night sight? Remember that

ArmA doesn't have such a feature "out of the box".

Uhm, I know nothing of scripting, except few things I use for simple mission editing, I'm sorry.

Would be a nice idea, maybe just associate it the NV Goggle's properties, changing the voice in the menu " Activate PVS " instead of " NV Goggles on ". Would save some room in the inventory afterall smile_o.gif

I do not really know if it could be possible but it would be nice for sure.

If someone's interested in trying a script, just PM me smile_o.gif

For the moment this is a pure visual addon, and still a w.i.p., going to rework some parts and add a custom rail to it.

Cheers, GH smile_o.gif

Would that it were that simple. You'd also need to arrange

it so the night vision effect "switched itself off" when you

lowered the sight from your eye, or put the rifle down. It's a

real bummer that the game doesn't support this right off the

bat.   mad_o.gif

perhaps one could bind it so both actions toggle with the same keystrokes.

Needs just a Parker Hale bipod ( if I can build one with less faces than regular Harris ) and I can start Lods construction.

Thanks for comments everybody, much apreciated notworthy.gif

Well Windrunner still needs a bit of work and " cleaning up ", I suppose M24 will be ready soon. Maybe I'll release a sniper ammo box and unpgrade it as soon as a new rifle is ready.

Still thinking about it smile_o.gif

And yesterday I was just speaking about an M40... lovely baby, isn't she? pistols.gif

For the moment I'm just focused on finishing at least M24 Socom in its cute custom ammo crate, then I'll see.

I think a mini-release should work very well as my first release ever on this forum smile_o.gif

I'm interested mostly in snipers stuff, so sooner or later I could consider to build up a good AI model too smile_o.gif

Actually there's already some AI rifles, they just need an appropriate UV mapping and textures.

I'd like to add more working equipments, but I'm zero level on scripting.

Also, a script to make bipods folded or unfolded would be REALLY apreciate! Is any of you willing to help? whistle.gif

Cheers, GH.

the lighting on your scope is kinda weird. I editededed your screen with what the right lighting should 'look like.'

edited screen

I just edited the left side. your highlights and shadows are like 90 degrees the wrong way on the cylinder parts.

Oyman that's true but I'm still working on textures and UVs, before making materials and normals wink_o.gif
