Fast Rope / Burning Players

Recommended Posts

Hey, as the title states, I thought it might be a good suggestion to have;

- Fast ropes out of air-craft for quick deployment

- Burning / on fire players. I thought the other day that ArmA is lacking the realism of burning bodies. When you hit a tank, instead of having instant dead bodied suddenly drop on the floor, I thought they might be on fire (on occasions this would happen realistically) and maybe even not be instantly dead (run around on fire).

So what do you all think?

I think the fast ropes should definitely there.

However, burning bodies should be ok, but I think that when you hit a tank and destroy it, the crew is dead and they should remain inside the vehicle, al least for tanks or light armor.

Molative Cocktails should be good and people still use them.

I was under the impression that when a tank is hit in real life it's immobalized, but the crew is still alive. At that point they'd run out and look for cover.

Well, that would happend if you hit the tank with an rpg or a m136, since probably those weapons won't destroy it in one shot.

But I was speaking of the tank being destroyed, so being hit by a maverick, a javelin(or even two or three light AT impacts in a row), will make the tank explode, so no one survives, and if they do, I do not think they would be able to run away, or as it happens now, to shoot you back biggrin_o.gif

Unfortunatly I don't know what happend inside a tank after it has been hit, but I suppose that the crew must be quite disoriented and probably seriously injured when that happens.

But again, it is just speculation.

DEFINATLEY need fast roping from hueys, super stallions etc.

but with a decent animation wink_o.gif . agree with burning bodies also.

I am a Iraqi Vet. and just wanted say there are def burnt bodies left in destroyed tanks. My only experience was with a Bradley when 6 soldiers were burned to death when hit by an IED but id rather BIS not be THAT realistic.

Fastrope would be cool but not essential. (I'd prefer to see BIS implement a good heli pickup of vehicles.)

The burning bodies should be in as it adds to realism and shouldn't be that hard to implement.

would prefer burning objects instead.  Trees, Grass, Bushes, Buildings.. etc.  Burning people only make it harder to get through censorship... although you can see burning bodies on the News.. but make believe ones could scar you.. go figure ??

Fast roping is plausible but I wouldn't expect to see burning bodies..that is one of the most horrific things to see in combat and would boost the rating from T to M, that kind of thing is best left for a community project, like what they did for OFP.

I believe it was ECP..you could hit a tank and immobilize it to where it would normally explode, the crew would bail out depending on the damage they would be fine or come out on fire and run around screaming in agony as they burned to death.

I even remembered the exploding bodies effect...hit a person

with explosives or something very strong and their bodies would dissapear and you would see an outward explosion of blood as various bones and innerds go flying...the skull would even roll down hills..creepy.

I remember this one time during the campaign where you gun from a M113, apparently that weapon qualified so everyone I shot exploded..nasty but fun times..and of course I remember one incident of driving an abrams, one of the bones got stuck spinning in midair and flipped me over, strong bones those were.

Personally I enjoyed the effects (although the exploding bodies was probably a bit overboard), yeah I'm a sicko but I like it as realistic as it can get...on my PC.
