I'm not sure if it's even possible but that sure would be nice to have a replacement config for your units that would swap them for RACs forces. What are your thoughts? I agree M16A2's would be good if that is indeed what their AK's will be replaced with but so far I haven't seen a whole lot of Iraqi units in the news using M16A2's. I think that is the plan...but whether that has begun to be implemented is another matter as part of that plan is due to American interests in getting rid of massive warehouses full of M16A2 which have mostly been replaced by M4A1 rifles in the Army (and M16A4's in the USMC). I personally would just like to see them using AK-47's rather than AK-74's. Some nice black AKM's would be sweet. Vilas has been more then willing to let mods use his excellent weapons so I would recommend asking him permission to use some of his AK-47's (and maybe make some black versions for Iraqi commando units with the regular ones used by regular Iraqi Army units). For those who might argue about the textures, here is a picture of one of the units using similar uniforms/gear: http://www.iraqslogger.com/images_full_column/unknown_1.jpg I believe that these guys are part of the Iraqi "Wolf Brigade" Special Forces unit. However it would be nice to see also some Iraqi units in more typical uniforms. But these units are nice to start with dont get me wrong. I also like these. However I think these would be uber leet police squad right? They look very special ops... Perhaps a bit too much... miles teg 1 Posted February 19, 2008 Given their uniforms and gear from the real life pics, they are likely to be from the much feared Iraqi Wolf Brigade or from a smiliar Iraqi Army special operations units. Alot of these units, while brutal, perform fairly well using American style tactics. The only problem is getting them to not shoot up Sunnis. But yeah....their commando status is why it would be nice seeing also more normal units using the RACS chocolate chip cammo and maybe some dark brown or tan vests. For awhile the Iraqi Army got tons of these cheap dark brown or dark blue (for police) Level IV vests (they have a large noticable ceramic insert pocket on the front and back) that were pretty shitty. I'm not sure who the company was who made them but they had a lot of problems according to Iraqi military I've talked to... these have slowly been replaced by interceptor vests and other similar vests...but alot of units still have the cheap ones...which sometimes work...sometimes don't. Sheps 0 Posted February 19, 2008 Great addon, just some things i'd like to see in the next phase of updates The old US Desert camo and minimal webbing. If you see these guys, a lot of them look out of place (Aka uniforms are too big, helmets are usually too big ect ect) Not that i know if thats even possible to give off that look in Arma, anyway :P plus helmets + balaclavas are more swat then Iraqi police (they seem to go all the way under the shirts probably hidden in the black) just have the balaclavas a bit lower to reveal more of the face and minus the gogs. Whiskey27 1 Posted February 19, 2008 Ok, for starters yah I'm new to forums. But I'm gonna give you props for these, looks pretty realistic to something I've seen almost everyday for the past year. Just some side notes if you want them? M16a2s from I've see only ever in the hands of IA not NP's, and I've only seen it like twice so far. The main weapons I've seen NP's use is the ak47, variants of course. Most common would be yugo m70's, fullstock and underfolder, and east german ak's. For the sniper rifle the SVD works, but I've only ever seen the romanian version of it, called like the PSL? But more than likely regular SVD's are in use so it all works I think....and one more thing, I wouldn't put RPG's on NP's......wouldn't happen with NP's imho. To be honest we had a big bin of surplus gear that looked like it was DXed years ago. that's what was given to them. everything from green and desert IBAs to ALICE suspenders and pouches. The actual gear of any of these units is dependant on the unit that trained them or is responsible for them or thier AO. The base uniform is the chocolate chips and level IV vests for the regulars, but they are now recieving ACUs in odd sized and in small batches for special units. The most prevelant thing is its kinda funny to see them walking around with M-16A2s now. Hard adjustment for all of us.
