Heatseeker 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Hi.. Are you sure its a network related problem? What FW drivers are you using?
diveplane 0 Posted February 4, 2008 yea i think its this..,all other games i play are fine.. i think its memory management maybe if not the network code? the dev team ned to look into this..
granQ 293 Posted February 4, 2008 you mean if you press ctrl OR esc right? I think its something with your computer setup, drivers, programs.. Think its a too rare "bug", never heard anyone complain. Many things seems to be windows related rather then ArmA.
BraTTy 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Some PC's can't handle alt-tab'n (same idea as ctrl-esc) Usually video card related, just stay in the game. Don't alt-tab to windows Could try up/downgrade video drivers

rowdied 44 Posted February 4, 2008 Instead of ctrl + esc or tab, try ctrl + alt + delete once. I do this if I need to get back to the desktop and have had ZERO problems in any game I've played. You can also go back to the game by double clicking the minimzed icon at the bottom of your windows tab. I've had too many problems with alt + tab crashing/freezing games and had to resort to ctrl+alt+Delete to end the application, so I just use that instead. W0lle 1052 Posted February 4, 2008 If Alt-Tab / Ctrl-Esc is causing problems for you there's also the option to run the game in a window if you need to switch between ArmA and Windows.

Just an idea... have you (re)installed the OpenAL drivers after you updated the other drivers?

BraTTy 0 Posted February 5, 2008 I've played Arma on 4 different PC's and have not experienced the problems you are having. Must be something you are running or as stated earlier ,hardware faults
sickboy 13 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi, Try using: -maxmem=512 Â Â Â in the startup parameters of the arma shortcut. Try using ArmA v1.09beta to see if the problem persists Does it really only happen in MP, never in SP? Please host your arma.rpt file somewhere, just after the crash. You can find the file here: %USERPROFILE%\local settings\application data\arma e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\local settings\applicataion data\arma Im running it atm with a Core2Quad running at 3280mhz, FSB 1640, MEM 820, GF8800GTX. XP 32 & Vista 64, all latest drivers (beta), all hotfixes (incl. ones not available on winupdate). I do not get the problem you are having.
diveplane 0 Posted February 5, 2008 I've played Arma on 4 different PC's and have not experienced the problems you are having.Must be something you are running or as stated earlier ,hardware faults say it again for the tenth time, all other games are fine so it has to be the code
BraTTy 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Are you ctrl-esc'n in all the other games too? With the size of the maps in Arma its probably the way it uses more resources than some other games. Also uses different sound system altogether. If its a bug in the code why doesn't it happen to me too? On 4 different PC's? Probably because I usually use same resolution in Arma as my desktop? I shut off most all background programs.I am also using XP (currently XP64 on my new system) You didn't state much specs.. Altho I recall a few users having the problem back when the 8800 video card came out.Drivers fixed the problems as far as I am aware. Most likely Vista users I really just think its your video drivers, possibly soundcard
rowdied 44 Posted February 6, 2008 I've run this game on 6 different computer configs from an AMD 3200 single core and a 6600gt to an e6750 @ stock speeds with onboard sound and a 8800gt 1 gig ram card and this game runs like a dream at very high settings. So... maybe it's your hardware? Check your drivers for both sound and video cards and revert back to defaults for both and see if that works. If it doesn't it's the code...
