The idea is to have desert missions where a sandstorm can make the difference between being spotted or not. It contains 10 missions, one of them is the famous Black Hawk Down one and some different ones where for example you will have to capture a well-defended city with artillery support. It comes in English and Spanish. <span style='color:blue'>Background history:</span> August 2007. Elite American soldiers Soldiers are sent to South Sahrani as part of a UN peace operation. Our intentions are to save lives, not to destroy them. But the incomprehensible SLA policy and the famine it provokes forces the UN to prepare a mission to capture the Prime Minister Ramirez and finish with this war which is taking so much time. You will go through different missions: defense, sabotage and capture some SLA well-defended strongholds. And you will also have to deal with an inhospitable weather full of sandstorms with difficult your progress. Good luck soldier. <span style='color:blue'>Installation:</span> Put the BlackHawk.pbo from the Campaign folder in your ArmA\Campaigns folder in your ArmA main directory. For the addons extract them to your Arma\@Blackhawk\Addons folder as we always recommend use the modfolder method. Pillage 0 Posted January 5, 2008 About the addons included in the demo, can you list what these are? I would normally think nothing of 63mb but my internet's been screwy recently and it will take all night to download. Just wondering if these are already available addons or your own. If already available I may have them, see my point. Having said that I would still need you to upload an addon free archive. Well it would actually be easier to find the problem if you had given some info, such as what addons you have. It might be an old version of the extended EH addon. A couple missions have had trouble with it. Delete it. The files to delete are called "Extended_Init_EventHandlers.pbo" and "Extended_Fired_EventHandlers.pbo". william1 0 Posted January 5, 2008 same here , it freezes everytime i try to start the campaign , tried with absolutely no extra addons (except the campaign ones) and with Arma 1.08 and 1.09b , same result always Arma.rpt:( it seems a infinite bucle ) Warning Message: No puedes jugar/editar esta misión; depende de contenidos descargables que han sido borrados.McN_vehicles, EBU_SOCOM1, map_ssara Missing addons detected: EBU_SOCOM1 McN_vehicles rlk_desertsol map_ssara EDIT: OK i visited Armaholic site and it says you need all the above missing addons for the campaign to work but it would be a good idea if you'd put those requeriments in the this page too .. Velaska 0 Posted January 5, 2008 mhh... I also have ARMA crashing and the really bad is that other missions, usually working, does not work anymore !!!! UI.PBO is the issue ?? In the page we list the addons, and at the bottom under the Download links there is a "See also" section where you have a link to those addons. We know its a bit messed cause it lists all "related files", as other missions which need of any of the addons.... With a bit of patience it can be made Just read first required addon, scroll down and open that in a new tab, then do this again for the rest and you should be done. I guess people doesn't read the page info cause we always add "use modfolder method as recommended" and a link to a FAQ where we explain how to use it with shortcut or with an arma launcher. kroky 1 Posted January 8, 2008 I've done 3 missions so far. I really like the atmosphere of the campaign. Very good addon selection that fits very good the desert scenery of the island. The mission where you have to engage 3 bases with two squads is rather hard. Especially when the own squad is lead by an AI, a lot of buddies die very early like this. biggibs 0 Posted January 9, 2008 i too am enjoying this campaign im currently on mission 5 nice use of addons that fit the secenario. i haven't tried any missions that make use of mapfacts SSara up until now,the sand storm effects are realy good too! only a couple of things i've had trouble with so far #1. the inital LZ's on mission 4 at lz's 1 'near hotel' & 2 'near ortego' they are a bit too close to the objectives and the BH gets shot up quite badly i have died several times before the bh manages to land,either that or you loose alot of your ai team before it lands. managed to clomplete it anyway with 2 ai squad members left. #2. i've had some issues with enemy ai fleeing the area and ending not triggering untill they are found and killed On mission 2 one of the enemy ai fled the area and i had to go driving a hummer around to find him,found him heading for corazol,killed him and that triggered the ending. In mission 3 there was an enemy ai on a roof i didn't spot he stayed laying prone on a roof and was hard to find & hit because he was keeping his head down. again ending triggered once i found and killed him. ***possible spoiler*** and as stated above on mission 4 not being in control of the squad makes it hard to complete,ai are way to slow (dumb) to respond too the bmp threat in time. At the first objective the bmp comes out of the base and wipes out alot of your team before your AT ai even get into a possitition to fire at it! anyway thanks for the campaign,hope to see more of the same please! Ducatisto 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Having read the previous posts I wanted to avoid any issues but I am getting total lock ups. There has been a mention of "ui.pbo" but that certainly was not in the downloaded campaign but it is an original pbo so what gives here? There was only two pbo's in the download, hawk (addon) and blackhawk (campaign). Can someone let me know if they have tried it with XAM? I do use that and wondered if that is an issue before I try without. Before anyone asks I have placed all the relevant extra pbo's into the campaigns addon folder and yes I DO use the modfolder way of installation. To simplify things could someone list EXACTLY what pbo's they have in their campaign addon folder, many thanks. Shame as I feel as I am missing something here.
