Dwarden 1125 Posted October 12, 2007 now officially annouced SoF codenamed PayBack from quite known slovak firm Cauldron trailers http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5621.html visually looks nice tho i wonder about map sizes ofc don't await tactical shooter just 'good' shooter
Maddmatt 1 Posted October 12, 2007 Looks awesome, just hope it has as much gore as the last one The trailer doesn't show any of the really violent details, like blowing heads apart and limbs coming off. Hope it's in the game. Edit: Looks like it's got plenty of gore: Gameplay video.
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Yep, blood effects 200% inspired by "Kill Bill"...
shadow 6 Posted October 12, 2007 BUZZARD @ Oct. 12 2007,18:25)]Yep, blood effects 200% inspired by "Kill Bill"... Â Looks like its 300% inspired by SOF1 Maybe its just me, but the gameplay looks alot faster than the two previous games. I liked SOF2 alot because you could go the tactical-route without being overrun.
Messiah 2 Posted October 12, 2007 strange man - I liked SOF2 because I could chop a man in half with two of the micro uzis

Quote[/b] ]§6) No posting of explicit imagesNo posting of pictures containing porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit images. This also includes links to pages that contain such images. But what the hell this SOF3!!! And THAT IS how games must BE!!!! Pure three hundred percent awesomeness!! The last time I got this exited by a game, was when I saw the trailer for ArmA.

Anyway, this game looks cool. Hope it's good.
Journeyman 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Very nice gun reload animations too! A bit overdone on the limb chopping; but that's SOF for you! Â
shadow 6 Posted October 12, 2007 I hope they stick to the cliche/conspiracy theories. I find them more interesting than all the run of the mills WWII shooters that have been done to death. Mark Hamill should return as the villain again
mr burns 132 Posted October 12, 2007 SOF had a *drools* story? No shit, as long as the damage model comes anywhere near Ghoul2 i´m so gonna buy this game!
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted October 14, 2007 I wonder if the lean bug will exist in SOF3. :P

What outtakes? Audio outtakes in SOF2? edit "If it wasnt for your damned interference I'd be sitting on a beach with a drink, a nice tan and more money than George Lucas"
badlymad 0 Posted October 14, 2007 The AI looks terrible in the gameplay video, but since it's a budget title and it has tons of gore, it has the potential to be fun.
shadow 6 Posted October 15, 2007 I had to re-install and play SOF2 yeasterday (Shinraiden's fault) I still think SOF2 is a good game to this date. I played through the game using a weapon mod (adds 30+ weapons). That line from the outtakes is used in the game on the last level where Wilson (Hamill's character) drops the bottle with the nervegas. Looking forward to SOF3 alot more now I wonder if we're getting proper ironsights this time. Anyone heard anything?
Maddmatt 1 Posted October 15, 2007 I wonder if we're getting proper ironsights this time. Anyone heard anything? The trailer on gametrailers.com showed the player aiming and shooting through 3D ironsights, as well as reflex sights
shadow 6 Posted October 15, 2007 Ah yes. I got too hung up on the run'n'gun side of the teaser-trailer.
shinRaiden 0 Posted October 15, 2007 For me, SOF2 was a bit mixed. + Gibs. AA-12 Auto shotgun. Various audio clips of people who don't know how to do realistic voice acting of massive trauma. AI isn't as positional-robotic as CoD-series. (ie good scenario designers) A semblance of a plot. Innovative implementation of ideas (open areas, clutter, aerial combat, etc) that the engine was never intended to do. - Invinci-Rambo vs Zombie Gunner Hordes. Mega-loadouts Cloned AI behaviors 'Nade and push gameplay Funnel-flow maps Marginal replayability inadequate gestures Crates ---------- I might get SOF3, after it's been out for a while. Maybe. There's plenty of more interesting things to blow money on though.
DBO_ 0 Posted October 15, 2007 I will be getting it, How i miss those run and gun 20 minute rush in an instant and now with this new blood and guts it will be a case of ,have "auto shitty" will travel.i wonder if you still get so much abuse for selecting the auto shitty as you used too ? USSRsniper 0 Posted November 2, 2007 SOF3.... I remember the days when i played SOF2, was fun, especially when palying online. Nothing is better then seeing enemy chopepd in half with Micro UZI
Maddmatt 1 Posted November 16, 2007 It's out in the US. Looking at the forums, it's a huge let-down The website is here. The forum are full of insults and death threats to the developer from angry SOF fans Despite the comments, it does look like a fun game Anyone here tried it? I'm hoping for some decent comments - whats good/bad. I've seen enough of the useless crap posted on the forums there.
JdB 151 Posted November 16, 2007 Once you get used to the insane amount of gore, it will be just like any other game. Far too short in SP, far too many bunnies in MP. John Mullins isn't even in this game, it wasn't developed by Raven Software, but by Cauldron and it was supposed to be a budget title, but due to the good name of the Soldier of Fortune series they got away with a full-priced game. All the more reason to ignore this phony Soldier of Fortune game. Still I believe it will sell just fine, since it has the right name, but above all comments like "Why the bad reviews, it looks great" make me confident of that. No one wants improvements in gameplay when you can pimp up the graphics to even more insane heights.
Sertorius 0 Posted November 16, 2007 All right, I bought it yesterday on a whim. The Good Parts: -Decent Weapon Variety -Lots of Customization (Including loads of sights) -Nice Graphics The Bad Parts: -Really short SP campaign -Less gibbing (You can blow heads off, but you can no longer blow holes through heads. You also can't saw people in half with your double SMGs) -Plot (Or complete lack thereof. Some evil guy with a vaguely Irish accent is doing, well, I don't really know what he was supposed to be doing) Worth about $10 of fun. I paid $40 . On the plus side, I picked up Rainbow Six Vegas for $19 and I'm now enjoying dangling upside down outside windows while blasting away with a Mark 23 . Maddmatt 1 Posted November 17, 2007 I don't think I'll buy it then. Doesn't sound like it's worth the money. A short SP mode is enough to put me off games. Only game I really play online now is ArmA, and that isn't very often.
