Mehmehmeh 0 Posted October 2, 2007 As simple as the title. Is somebody aware of a script or anything that would automatically remove players with player ID that does not contain 8 digits only. This is for a server of course. Search gave no result.
.kju 3245 Posted October 2, 2007 Not possible right now.
Mehmehmeh 0 Posted October 2, 2007 I guessed almost that much. However, I just discovered with another copy of ArmA that I purchased online from Sprocket... It has only 7 digits. So I have a original copy with 8 digits and one original with 7 digits. All purchased from same place, and downloaded from same place. But a few month apart only. There goes the theory of 8 digits only out the window. And so does this topic.
Hyrax0740 0 Posted October 2, 2007 legit ids are from 6-9digits , 10 is fake butsome reports of the legit 10 digit ids have been made
daikan 1 Posted October 2, 2007 it's possible to identify and access unique IDs from within a script context using Nutty's Arma DSTS (Data Storage Transaction System). check out this thread.
RN Escobar 0 Posted October 2, 2007 5 digit ID's are also legal i imported 2 hard copies of DVD from czech rep into the UK on the day of release, both of these have 5 digit ID's so don't be making a script that only allows 8 digits please, lol
Nutty_101 0 Posted October 2, 2007 it's possible to identify and access unique IDs from within a script context using Nutty's Arma DSTS (Data Storage Transaction System).check out this thread. There is also another method soon that will not require that program to ban the keys. Once I release the PowerPanel you will be able to use the Softwall and Sniffer plugins to automaticly drop all traffic from keys you feel are invalid. So if your server does not accept keys 10 digit or longer you can tell it to just firewall them off and you do not need to worry about it. The Dsts 2 will also interface to the other plugins soon so you will be able to work with them quicker and easier as well.

Nutty_101 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Here ya go guys, I updated the thread on how the ID checking will work with the two plugins. Pretty simple system. Softwall plugin PacketSniffer - Please see last post for info pertaining to this post.
Mehmehmeh 0 Posted October 11, 2007 Nutty_101, Yes, this way is a bit simpler then the other way posted in this thread. But unfortune I did not check back here earlier. With that said, and with people saying that 5 digits are legal, and so are 7 and 8 since I have two original downloaded copies just like so. It would suggest that so far between 5 to 8 digits are legal, but 10 are not? Where can I find the info about that 10 digits are not legal copies? Reason is, I would dislike to remove players with any number of digits just to later find out that I was in the wrong and accused honest people for using cracked ArmA simply. Likewise, I'd be very happy to ban X-digit ID's being confident that I did ban players with non-original ArmA.
Nutty_101 0 Posted October 11, 2007 There are some posts around that talk about it. However the 10digits are not a huge issue as people are using real ones anyway.
ArMoGaDoN 0 Posted October 12, 2007 Safest to say under 10 digits - Very early release used smaller IDs even 2 digits.
