Tunnels in mountains..

Hi,

I havent tried out wpedit , but i was wondering if it is possible to create tunnels in mountians? Would make a good spot for an ambush smile.gif

if you can go under a bridge, than just make your bridge wide enough ?

kegetys made a tunnel and postet pics in another thread

i think he createt a tunnel Model and set it over the normal terrain

cause as far as i know the terrain itself cannot have double z-axis / tunnels since every x/y has only one z coordinate

but with big mountain models it could be done

mountain model? no no no...

Well as we all have seen buildings in ofp have a funny way of blending or partially disapearing in the ground, perfect for a tunnel model in .p3d form.

Kegetys has done it, but he aint gonna release it

o yeah, the problem with tunnels are.. well.. you gonna have to put your own textures on the .p3d file cuz.. you cant in wrpedit.

Im not spamming, I just came up in the last minute, you cant do that in wrpedit to make "holes".. OFP island is a big Sheet that you form up and down with "piramides".

Well...

Gren has come up with a solution for this. You just lower a large portion of the terrain (4 entire cells per say) to 20 meters below the ground. Then you create a p3d that is the same size as the lowered terrain. The p3d will have the shape of a hill/mountain with a tunnel going through it.

Voilá, a tunnel.

A good idea is to make the actual terrain the tunnel floor, since OFP has one mean collision detection. (Ever tried lying down in GFX707's trenches?)

Having tunnels in ofp would be nice.. Maybe well see one or two in resistance. Even if we dont it doesnt matter. Well probably see them come out sometime....

How come he didn't release it. Was it like placing a heap of buildings on a map and slowed everything down?

i thinki know whay he is not releasing it ....

cozz it is one big model

how he did it was , he made 2 hills either side, and left a gap in the middle, then he made a model that looks like a tunnet and the land over it is also apart of the model, and each enind of it goes into the sides of the mountians on the sides .....

if ya look hard, you will see what i mean =:/

so he is not releaseing it cozz ya cant edit the shape of the whole tunnel look =:/
