The amazing thing is that there is a whole world of paper models out there. Military, non military, Scifi, nature, fantasy.. if it can be made in plastic, it can be made in paper.

Some paper model links for the creativily curious:

PaperInside Web Site Where you will find:

Munster Coach

koach_30.jpg Plus tons of other fabulous models like Back to the Future vehicles, Batmobiles, and the Ecto wagon from Ghostbusters.. plus more...

The WebDude's Free Papercraft Where you will be captivated by...

MVC-491.jpg

.. the Compact Pussycat from The Wacky Races.

And of course there's always...

Penelope Pitstop

And for you Aliens fans itching to blast some facehugger into eternity here's the famous M41a Pulse Rfle.. in paper

I would suggest the adventurous paper model efficiondos to search the Aliens model link above for some interesting movie prop models from such films as Planet of the Apes (original), Judge Dredd etc.

It's an impressive work, something so sensible like paper really looks like metal/rubber/wood on this guys hands.

Few months ago i found this Link while searching for blueprints references. It can be really helpfull for the modding teams. it has hundreds of unwraped models, rdy to be printed/cuted/glued. its somehow a reverse modeling technique but it can work ok.

Paper modelling is a pretty cool hobby. The cool thing with it is that given the right amount of time you can do ANYTHING all by yourself from A to Z.

It's got some pretty cool applications in table top wargames too (cheap and sometimes pretty convincing, esp. 1/72nd models and for terrain structures and buildings).

There were also not long ago relatively large scale (over 1/16th) scale cardboard soldier figures floating around.

I'm more of a plastic gluer though. Paper rips and folds, plastic, metal and resin don't smile_o.gif

That is mind blowing and a true test of nerves..no one with any trace of hyperactivenes or lack of patience would be able to complete a model like that!
