cjsoques 0 Posted August 4, 2007 With my experiences in a couple of days and a total of 10 min "play" time if you can call it that, I have experienced every single issue I have read about in this troubleshooting forum: -I have experienced blue screens of death both in multiplayer and campaign -I have experienced white flicker in any game mode -I have experienced texture problems but fixed that -I have experienced crashes to desktop in both multiplayer and campaign -I have experienced the game not running when I clicked the exe after installing 1.08 but I fixed that -I have experienced shadow tearing right before a BSOD or CTD -I have experienced game lockups that crash the computer and requie a reboot -I have experienced black screens and still have sound that require a Cntrl-Alt-Del to get out of Let me remind you this is only in a few minutes of "play" time.....this game COULD be so good. You suck Bohemia

Mr_Tea 0 Posted August 4, 2007 I don`t play online, so could not get crashes by that. All other things never happened with v.1.08, except very few ctd`s. But i never had an BSOD, black screens, white flicker or had to reboot my machine because ArmA freezes. ArmA is good. Thank you BIS.

You suck Bohemia Well.. as you don't even tell us what hardware/os you have whats the point of posting.. I think I have had 1 BSOD in Arma.. and I can play multiplayer hours on end.. IF Arma was so badly made howcome it works fine on some machines??..
cjsoques 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Arma would be good if I could play it...here are my specs.. Core 2 Quad 6600 2.4ghz 2gb 800mhz DDR2 2x 8800 GTS 320mb so not my computer, you would think that reading all these forums and knowing of all the issues you wouldn't go on assuming I have a crap computer I run supcom full blown graphics, bf2142, bf2, company of heroes, world in conflict, and maxed out graphics, no CTDs no BSODs so don't assume I didn't do my research. Bohemia you do suck because you ruined what could have been an amazing game that I wish so bad and tried very hard to get working and SOME machines does not equal a finished product, PC Games were and should be designed to work on a multitude of hardware profiles. If I had known the exact setup the devs used to play the game I might have gone with that instead...

cjsoques 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Quote[/b] ]-I have experienced white flicker in any game mode Enable Wait for Vertical Sync when in SLI mode Where is this option available to me? manuall via the nVidia control panel to force Vertical Sync to be ON cause that is not a choice in Arma video options, please elaborate, I would love to get things fixed as much as I can Cause if I have this much fun doing the training and armory, I would love to get to play the campaign. It's in the Nvidia control panel, in the advanced 3d performance settings, last option .. you may want to add the arma exe to the program settings instead of forcing it on globally thought.. max power 21 Posted August 4, 2007 Try updating to every latest driver version for all of your hardware, ESPECIALLY the sound card. When we infer that it's your computer, it's not the specifications that we're ragging on, it's the set up and / or maintenance.

I use www.driveragent.com to make sure I dont accidentally have any old drivers.. (you dont need to subscribe to run the scan, but you will need to find the drivers yourself..) And just in case.. You suck Bohemia Also, just for shits and giggles, download and install CCleaner. Your HD is likely awash with random garbage much like everyone that uses a PC. Run the first tab labeled "Cleaner", and have a look at how much space it free's up, probably something well over 500MBs (followed by a defrag). The tab below that should be "Issues", which are related to your registry integrity. CCleaner will only locate and eliminate enteries that are considered safe, however, I'd preform a back-up via CC when prompted. You'd be surprised how many issues this one little program eliminates when it concerns a great many games, including ArmA and GRAW2 for example. Again, just for shits and giggles. Something to be used in conjunction with the other advice presented.
cjsoques 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Okay I was just able to play some multiplayer just now, but eventually got some horrible model morphing that would extend the models out like triangles in all directions like a sea urchin or something. The game eventually lost performance and I had to leave. I'll double check my sound drivers, I just built this system (definitely not my first! so I recently got all the latest drivers for everything. system maintenance is not the issue. Thanks for the tips and i will try those out now

Just back up your DX10 partition.

Marines 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Apologies, I'm running Win XP Pro ... vista was a nightmare for me Ohh man... I don't know what to tell ya, mate. Have you experienced any issues with other games, no matter how minute?
cjsoques 0 Posted August 4, 2007 So far no BSOD but had a couple CTDs after the page file fix, never had any problems with the latest games (see my previous posts). thanks for the help any other suggestions for fixes would be appreciated

How long have you had your current box? 2.) If for over a year or more, when was the last time you reinstalled your OS? As the PC Gamer Editor in Chief Greg Vederman would say; "Those whom do not follow thy holy doctrine of OS reinstallation, are certainly doomed to the blue-screen of death hell." Honestly though, I don't think any member here has ever heard of anyone experiencing the myraid of issues you do. It sounds too awful to be true, IMHO. I'll shoot a PM to SiberianHeat over at the ACG forums, as he is the man so to speak concerning these problems. I'll try and get back too ya before Monday, which is of course, all dependant upon his timely response. Cheers!
Heatseeker 0 Posted August 4, 2007 You mentioned artifacts and corruption. - Do you overclock? - What are your graphics settings? (resolution too) For example "default" texture setting is only meant for video cards with 512 mb of video memory or more.

I had this once and rolled back to the drivers that came with my geforce 7900gtx instead of using the latest ones.
