RACS Ranking System?

Hey, I haven't done to many SP missions, but has anyone found out what ranks the RACS uses? US ones? Spanish ones? Any information would be great. And as a side note, what are the abbreviations for the Spanish ranks?

I suggest you to check this page -Esperanto language- since Sahrani inhabitants are supposed to speak something like that. So I would purpose :

-soldato (sld.)

-kaporalo (kpr.)

-sergento (sgt.)

-leutenanto (ltn.)

-kapitano (kpt.)

-majoro (maj.)

-kolonelo (kln.)

I can't read that webpage... What exactly is "armeo"?

Also, did you just make up those ranks? They aren't very specific. Only 1 jr. enlisted rank there.

according to the webpage, the Majoro is the "cefkomandanto" (a chief-commander, or kind of leader) of a "Bataliono"

Right on, well, thanks for your help. I've joined an Esperanto forum on the internet and I'll see if they can help. I've researched it a bit and it is actually a very interesting language.

If you want to learn more esperanto, may I suggest the lernu! community (http://en.lernu.net/). Also, if you're interested in how Esperanto was potentially used by the US military, I found some links in an earlier post on the subject of the Sahrani language:

The first one has nice links to other places which discusses Esperanto being used as the language of the aggressors as well.

Of course, Esperanto is a language designed to promote peace, international communication and understanding, NOT to lead armies and perform genocide.

Also, seeing as according to the official story, the RACS were trained and (apparently) equipped by the US, it makes sense they'd have a similar system. Also if you check out Riboli (featured in one of the newsclips in the EU version, and also available for inspection if you've got one of the many editor addons), you'll notice he has a name tag which says "Cpt. Andres Riboli". So, who knows.

Yay for interest in languages, though.

On that note about Riboli, I decided to check out the South Korean military about their ranking system, since the USA pretty much formed that military like Sahrani's. South Korea uses an identical ranking system as the US Army, but it became translated into Korean. So only if I had the Esperanto for:

Private

Private First Class

Corporal

Sergeant

Staff Sergeant

Sergeant First Class

Master Sergeant

First Sergeant

Sergeant Major

Second Lieutenant

First Lieutenant

Captain

Major

Skimming those links, it seems that Esperanto is used *because* it is a completely neutral language. They aren't trying to militarize Esperanto- they are trying to train in a more politically neutral way.

Don't worry, I don't even think someone could notice it.

About Esperanto it's not really so easy for a beginner (like me) to translate sentences from my native language, but the worst could be, IMHO, to find voice actors (SO rare! )
