Even the arm badge on the left arm is the same. The boots are different yes.

vilas textures are retextured BIS units and so is mine maybe thats where your seeing the resemblence.

if you want to check out the unit its character pbo called us_soldier_co.paa

textures are different on entire uniform

only belt and patches and pockets are the same.(to be taken out only added for position atm)

Helmet and weaponry and equipment is vilas mod.

not claiming it to be my own.

I'm under the impression we have permission from vilas to use his units as per post in armedassault.info

wow. I just spent about 30 hours working with the Vilas units and I couldn't tell the difference until you posted the two textures for viewing side-by-side.

I like the wear you've put in. Any chance for 2nd Rangers uniforms?

im only a 2d artist.

i had to switch a unit out of vilas mod just to get screenshots.

im a noob when it comes to codes and configs lol

i can make the texture if you give me some references.maybe you could find someone to apply them in an addon pbo.

maybe the main man vilas might if he wouldnt mind

Pretty cool stuff, even if you don't do the mod, here's the links. I am really wanting to get into this modding stuff so I think this might be the first thing I'll tackle.

I'll se what we can do.In the meantime we might be joining with a different mod called: the Weltkriegmod.It has all the countries used in ww2 (Accept for italy scically and some others.) they wan't us to be callezusändig for the Allierten armies, but I wan't the name to have ArmA 1943 or some resemblance in it.They are going to send me some of there work, and I we might co-operate.

The ArmA 1943 title naturally (because of the year) has alot of stigmatism that it implies. A good title. Keeping it will surely pay off in "epicness."

"Weltkrieg" means "world war", just like "world war" does not specify 1 or 2 either. I've personally never heard of this mod.

And yes, would pose somewhat of a problem if they are a "Great war" mod

Sounds like there making a world war mod and only want to make germans?,maybe they have seen our progress with the americans and like what they see

You should ask if they want to be folded into ArmA43 instead of us becoming "worldwarmod for the allies"

as its been the turning year so..

but as i said im not sure.

that was pretty much what they were doing on offensive.

but in 43 germany only launched 1 major offensive that being operation 'citadel'

but i see what your saying.

1943 was the year that it all started to go bad for germany with the defeats on the eastern front i.e Stalingrad and Kursk,

the complete Loss in the africa campaign.

The allied invasion of sicily and italy.

i still think we should keep the same name.

I say keep ArmA, as mentioned whenever the term 'Blitzkrieg' is mentioned, I think of the early war years, definitely not 1942/43.

read the wiki about blitzkrieg and you'll soon see that it is a very limited term if you want to cover different times of the war...
