jerryhopper 286 Posted June 13, 2007 So, you play arma. and they call you a noob. - but are you? With the guys at ' Armchair General Magazine ' - it cant get worse than 'just a noob'. Atari totally misses the spot With the 'US' answer on the 'tactical guide for Armed Assault' as available on the Atari FTP server. The guide contains several nonexisting gameoptions, as well as complete edited screenshots, which depict situations that are impossible in the current version of ArmA. Now, can you discover the fake information in a ArmA guide? test your knowledge yourself. http://www.armedassault.eu/news.php?readmore=579 there are more that 6 'nonexisting' feautures describes/depicted in that Tactical guide. Feel free to comment, Friday i will discuss the subject and your opinion on Sahrani Radio's- Good Morning Sahrani show.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Ok, here's a few to start off (assuming no addons, using ArmA straight out of the box): 1. How in-game do you make a "chalk mark X on the entrance or an outside wall" of buildings you have cleared? 2. How in-game do you make "extensive use of hand and arm signals"? 3. I'd also opine that it's impossible to "fix [the enemy] with intense fires This article is obviously written by cherry picking stuff from FMs without regard to the applicability of the information to the game. 4 IN 1 0 Posted June 13, 2007 this is a joke rgr? basicly all we need to do is to sent them Dslyxcie's TTP guide without the ACE stuff and tell them to READ

Greg147 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Quick few things I noticed, on the picture on page 4, the 2nd guy from the left is lying down with an AT4 in the firing position. Page 7 shows an image of a guy with an RPG leading out of a window. AFAIK, that window is not opened in the game, and the building has no interior.

Maddmatt 1 Posted June 13, 2007 Quick few things I noticed, on the picture on page 4, the 2nd guy from the left is lying down with an AT4 in the firing position. I think the AT4 is on his back, and it just looks as though he is holding it. Besides, with the backblast I don't think it would be safe to hold it like that
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted June 13, 2007 ...with the backblast I don't think it would be safe to hold it like that Does the AT4 in ArmA actually have a backblast?
Heatseeker 0 Posted June 13, 2007 No big deal, some stuff is bogus but i think the idea was to make something entertaining and promotional. Dont loose sleep over it, not worth it .
frederf 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Differences between guide and ArmA: 1. Guide assumes 9 man squad. Missions are COMMONLY everything but 9 man squads. 2. As the guide goes on and on, more and more assets are assumed. Two squads, two strykers, a TOW, a tank? That's 26-27 people! When was the last time you had 26 people to form any kind of tactic with? Annoyances with the guide: 1.Randomly capitalized Words in the middle of sentences For no particular reason! 2. Guide don't explain what you're working with. People, AI? 3. Styker does not have a 14.5mm gun and two machine guns. It's armored against a 14.5mm gun. 4. Sewers, hand signals, chalk, mortars? 5. "[M1A1's] armor is impervious to all but a few AT systems and can take a frontal shot by any enemy tank." "Your Strykers can also kill Infantry Fighting Vehicles" Praises of the guide: 1. Good description of an ambush with 2 fire teams, squad leader, and attached TOW. 2. Good tips for defense in depth. 3. Marginally useful ideas for an attack. Fred DM 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Quote[/b] ]While playing ATARI's exiciting and realistic ARMED ASSAULT game   Crazy me, I thought BIS made this game... it's not uncommon at all to attribute games to the publisher instead of the developer. prominent examples include UbiSoft's GRAW (developed by GRIN) or Sierra's Scarface (developed by Radical). Yeah I get that now, have been just into the whole arma thing, so long that I had forgotten the rest of the game industry. Just remembered that I really dont know any of the game developers, but they're publishers.
ShrubMiK 0 Posted June 13, 2007 ArmA is slightly unusual in that there are a whole bunch of publishers, so it's less excusable to attribute the game to any one of them. Imagine if the music industry were like this: "Hot new single out today from EMI!!!"
Guest Ti0n3r Posted June 13, 2007 The pic where the SLA sniper is looking out through the window of the 3rd (?) floor of a building looks kinda fake to me :P
