Our brains tend to filter these movements out, but some games are essentially simulating what would result if you recorded video with a camera attached to your head. I would prefer the option to have the Head Bob be turned down or disabled. When completely disabled and traversing a smooth surface, it has the appearance of being on skates or driving. While I appreciate the nice character animations, they can remaing, but the the bobbing or swaying motion in any FPS makes me sick. It is often possible to disable this feature. max power 21 Posted May 17, 2007 He's talking about the motion of the character's head when he jogs. There is quite a lot of movement there. xnodunitx 0 Posted May 19, 2007 You try a war game in which you have to turn your characters head fast, spin helicopters and jets and sometimes swerve like crazy at the wheel to dodge bullets and you complain about motion sickness? Am I the only one who see's a bit of irony here? I think it would be best you just avoid war type games altogether if you get motion sickness from fast movements. neurokrash 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Greetings, I'm not one of the developers of this game, but I have observed the following: the view in this game is not necessarily determined by the head position, character model, or animations. These are separate processes and would not require any changes. If you use the NUM Enter key to change to a third person view, then run, the world doesn't jump up and down as it does in the first person viewpoint. If you press the NUM + key it moves the camera closer to the soldier. To me, this means that camera position can be freely placed around the character, or even anchored to a part of the character model. The camera position is probably defined as the distance from a point or axis, and as such, can probably be adjusted by altering the distances. The Third Person camera would be just right if I could move the camera to just in front of the soldier's head. I have not need for an actual Third Person camera. If it is not already in the game, it appears to me that adding an additional view mode such as "First Person without Head Bob" would require little effort. And your idea is good neurokrash but if you are thinking of moving the characters third person camera into their head so it doesn't bob then you would have to have a copy of the model, for SP this doesn't seem like a big issue but for MP it may cause a few problems.
