Hardman_506thIR 0 Posted April 29, 2007 A public service announcement goes out to everyone (especially members of 22 i havent been able to get in-touch with) that a group is going around called g00ns.net and hacking and destroying people clans websites, forums and teamspeak servers. At the moment ours forums and teamspeak are completely gone and people are IP banned, accounts removed and all sorts. They are doing it extremly well and bouncing IP addresses all over the place, aswell as calling themselves the anti-clan etc People are advised to take a backup of anything they can and store it in a safe place ASAP incase you need it!! People wishing to join 22SAS are still welcome, just please bear with us while we try and get this sorted!! Hey guys, this is what happened Someone came on from g00ns.net with the name MurderSkillz (with R and SA flags) about 2 seconds after the last server admin left and it was just me and marius. This guy then - kicked everyone including the bot - deleted all the channels - make his spam channels - revoked chromes Server Admin when he came back to attempt to kick him - revoked my registration he then seems to have - got into forum admin - deleted all the boards - created this one After some investigation me and chrome found that - he port scanned chrome after --bouncing ip off me --then off japan --then off canada - logged into forums and maybe TS that way - using a program called TS Admin Client which allows you to be SA on a server without appearing logged in So please make yourself aware of it so it does'nt happen to you! Messiah 2 Posted April 29, 2007 least it wasn't hacked by Ch@os - like Chris said, its a danger of having a public TS and forums - we've had the VCB forums hacked but not the TS server thankfully - sorry to hear it happened, but hopefully its a swift recovery Even if you're aware of it, it's hard to stop it - When our forums were hacked, our admin watched powerlessly as the guy made himself admin, removed all the existing rights and deleted the boards one by one - they know what they're doing unfortunately, even if they are script kiddies with nothing else to do. Dwarden 1125 Posted April 29, 2007 otherway around they got to your sql via forum security hole and then gained all needed info about TS too due fact You use phpBB it's high chance thats what happened if there is any new TS vulnerability except that one with "mistake" in settings (where unwanted person may gain SA rights way to avoid is posted on TS forum) plz drop me PM p.s. my TIP > IF You can ... avoid phpbb ... better use IPB, vBulettin or similar ... At least when I was a kid and we pulled the stunts we did, there was always the chance you could get shot at for trespassing, or the cops could come after you. If there was anything I could ever not suggest enough... backup your stuff!!! Even if you lose a days/weeks worth of posts, articles, whatever... it's still better than starting all over again.
