Messiah 2 Posted April 15, 2007 strange thing is, I was at the 2006 war and peace show - I can't recall seeing that one anywhere - must have gone by it without a second thought. Here's my contribution:
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 15, 2007 T17 Deerhound. There was also a 4x4 version called the T17E1 Staghound that was produced in much greater numbers. It says what it's called on the side of the hull.
Messiah 2 Posted April 15, 2007 yeah, i know - thought it may be too hard so I left that on, but expected people to stumble across the staghound, and not her 6x6 version.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 15, 2007 I had to PS a few logos off the front of this one: Sorry I couldn't find a bigger pic.
blackdog~ 0 Posted April 17, 2007 E: Nevermind, misinterpreted the rules. That one looks kind of like an M114 but I really have no idea.
Messiah 2 Posted April 17, 2007 looks like one of the current generic modern FRES type armour systems being developed - the turret strikes a resemblance to the LAV turret, but im lost on finding what the vehicle is. perhaps a little too hard with such a small pic - I'd hazard a guess that they're british given what their crew helmets look like, but like i said, its so small its probably my eyes playing tricks. da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 17, 2007 Probably was a bit too hard. It's the Advanced Composite Armored Vehicle Platform (ACAVP) demonstrator developed by QinetiQ. Nicknamed the "plastic tank". It's a demonstrator used to showcase the properties of fiber-composites on armoured vehicles that could potentially be utilised in FRES, rather than an actual condender for FRES itself. Someone else can have a go now, the floor's open.
dm 9 Posted April 17, 2007 Heres one that should be hard, but not too hard (Apologies for the shady PS job on the logos)
Messiah 2 Posted April 17, 2007 didn't think to look at qinetiq, only ventured onto BAE's site to have a look. Happy that I ID'd it as british [edit] Deadmeat, well the Abrams heritage is clear to see, but there are some subtle differences here and there.... searching for info on any sort of abrams upgrades etc... I feel perplexed that that line of thought may be that little too easy... hmmm
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 17, 2007 searching for info on any sort of abrams upgrades etc... I feel perplexed that that line of thought may be that little too easy... You're on the right track looking for upgrades, but not upgrades to Abrams. Pay less attention to the turret and look at the rest of the tank.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted April 17, 2007 M60-2000(/120S) tank, the hybrid of M60 and M1?
dm 9 Posted April 17, 2007 Indeed, its the M60-2000, or the General Dynamics 120S. Was an upgrade of the M60 with the Abrams turret and extra armour around the hull. Ironsight or BlackScorpion, whoever gets here first
Ironsight 1 Posted April 17, 2007 Pfff I am almost out of ideas. ID all 3 vehicles in the picture.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted April 17, 2007 The 1st one is definetly a Panhard AML, 2nd looks a tad like a half truck... M3 or early BTRs, though I guess not. No idea on the last ones, yet. They look a tad like the Panhard VBLs
Johannes 10 Posted April 17, 2007 the two vehicles in the bg look like UR-416´s too me. not sure about the second vehicle though.
Adamicz 3 Posted April 17, 2007 I know the right answer, but I'm daily visitor of MP.net so it would be unfair
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted April 18, 2007 ID all 3 vehicles in the picture. I count 4 vehicles?
Messiah 2 Posted April 18, 2007 the two at the rear are the same vehicle... or at least as far as I can tell [edit] at any rate, my best guess is: 1. AML (Obviously), 2. VAL Cashuat, 3+4 looks like a pair of UR-416's can't be sure mind - spent a day looking around various google hits trying to work out what vehicles they would be... Ironsight should be banned from this game
Ironsight 1 Posted April 18, 2007 at any rate, my best guess is: 1. AML (Obviously), 2. VAL Cashuat, 3+4 looks like a pair of UR-416's Correct, El Salvadorian Army. AML was easy, Cashuat is a modification of a M37 truck and the last 2 are indeed UR-416's. Good job! Your turn Quote[/b] ]Ironsight should be banned from this game Don't hate the player, hate the game
Messiah 2 Posted April 18, 2007 wahey I had worked out the el salvadorian theme, so it was a case of trawling through the possible vehicles and matching them up Ok, probably easy - love this thing:
Pathy 0 Posted April 18, 2007 Well that looks like self propelled arty if i ever saw it. As before, can't be bothered to play properly though
Messiah 2 Posted April 18, 2007 thats exactly what the website I dragged this off said that people confused it with - it is actually a tank, all-be-it an unusual one (Lazy oink)
